Lucas

Lucas knew the tall dark skinned man was following him and when he saw the same man stalking towards him in the club confirmed it. Lucas watched the man sit down on the dark sofa leaving a slight distance between them. Lucas continuing leaning against the wall. His friend Derrick had gone off with some chick and told him he'll be back soon, but Lucas knew better. He'll probably go back to the little abandoned apartment they were holding in alone. He wanted to go home, but he hated to see his mother suffer. She thought he didn't know she was sick, but he had overheard her on the phone with one of her doctors. The following day he just skipped school and ducked out on his own, knowing eventually this is how it would be: him in the world all alone. His mother was all he had, he watched her struggle his whole life to give him the best her cashier's and waitress jobs could give. He was never hungry, without shelter, always had a Christmas she had given him her life. Just as Lucas was thinking of these things, the tall dark skinned man spoke, 'She misses you and if she did that much for you, why did you abandon her when she needs you most?' Lucas stared at the man in disbelief. 'How the hell..' Lucas whispered his voice trailing off as the man stood and walked over the wall and leaned against it beside him. 'The more important question is are you ready to go home?' Lucas said nothing. 'My name is Richard, I'm know your mother and I'm the Omega to your father. I've been sent to bring you home.' Lucas still said nothing and the man named Richard didn't say anything more until he heard Lucas sigh in defeat. 'My father?' Lucas asked quietly. 'Yes. My king and good friend, he has sent me to find you and bring you home.' 'Is my mother dying?' The tall man's silence was enough of an answer. Squaring his shoulders, Lucas pushed himself up off the club's wall and turned to to tall man, 'I'm not going home to watch my mother die and you can tell my father to f**k off.' Lucas thought his answer was bold and clear, so he began to walk off, but a ton of bricks dropped on his shoulder in the form of a hand. 'Lucas, I know there are things to you don't understand, but you will respect your father name in my presence even in his absence. Your mother's dying wish is to see you and I promised her she would. Be wise and come willingly. Let's not let you see me in an unfriendly manor. Now come let me take you home.' As the man was speaking, Lucas saw his friend Derrick out the corner of his eye and signaled for him to come over. 'Do not be the cause of your friend's death, Lucas.' The man voice was a whisper, but the tone he used made Lucas think twice, and again it was as if he could read his thoughts. 'I'm not going back home. My mother will forgive me and she'll understand' saying this with his back still to the tall man Lucas again tried to leave. The ton of bricks kept him in place, and by now Derrick and the girl he had left with was back smelling of s*x and alcohol. And that's another thing that's been driving him crazy, it's like suddenly his senses was doing extreme things. It's like his hearing was changing, his body was buffing up. He was already tall at 5'10 but a few days ago he and Derrick, who was 6'0 are now standing shoulder to shoulder. 'Your father can answer all those question for you Lucas. It's only going to become more surreal after your18th birthday in a month. Your human body's preparing for your change.' The man spoke to where only Lucas could hear him. Lucas finally looked at the man in his face clearly. The man eyes were waiting, glowing a hazy orange. What the hell is going on! 'Come with me, Lucas and I'll tell you what's going on.' Lucas slowly begin nodding his head watching the dark skinned man eyes glow. Lucas heard Derrick calling his name, but he couldn't answer, he simply continued to follow the man until they were almost out the door, when suddenly Derrick came up and tried to strike the man with a beer bottle. Lucas watched the man turn and took Derrick down in an instant. Lucas yelled when he was about to snap his neck. The club goers were now watching and gathered around the scene. The man dropped Derrick and stood up his eyes was burning orange now, 'Let's go.' His voice was deep and thundered. Lucas didn't argue simply followed the man out the club as the scene behind him disappeared and Derrick strangling voice saying his name.
