Hunter’s POV
I knew it was coming.
Ever since the rumors started swirling around Crescent High—about me spending the night with an Omega, about me publicly defending Jade—I’d been waiting for the inevitable call.
And it came sooner than expected.
I barely stepped through the packhouse doors when a firm voice echoed down the hall.
“HUNTER. My office. Now.”
The sound of my father’s command rolled through me like thunder. I gritted my teeth and headed toward the Alpha’s wing, heart pounding in a rhythm of dread and defiance.
When I entered, he was already standing behind his desk, arms crossed, jaw locked tight. My mother sat on the leather chair off to the side, worry shadowing her normally calm features.
