Chapter 51 – The Dream of Wolves

833 Words

Jade’s POV There was no pain here. No cold. No bruises on my legs, no storm howling above me. Just silence… and light. I opened my eyes to find myself standing in a glowing meadow under a silver sky. Everything shimmered—the grass, the trees, even the air. It was peaceful in a way I’d never known, as though this place existed outside of time, untouched by cruelty. I was barefoot. The ground was soft beneath my toes, the air kissed my skin like warm velvet. Above me, the moon hung full and luminous, casting gentle rays across the wildflowers that dotted the field. I wasn’t alone. Not far from me stood a wolf. Towering. Majestic. His dark fur rippled in the wind, and his golden eyes—so familiar—met mine across the distance. Hunter. Or rather, his wolf. He didn’t move. Just watched me.
