Once Lyla and I were both done showering,we set out our supplies to take off the acrylic nails we had on from tonight.
We talked and put on some music at s low volume in the background to help calm us down.
Kason came in the doorway and stood there for a few seconds before saying something.
"Can I..can I talk to you two? In my room? Not for long I just really need to say something" he said.
Lyla and I looked at eachother and she sighed as we put out things down and followed him to his room.
He walked in and sat on his bed while we stayed in the doorway waiting.
"I meant what I said earlier. I really do apologize for all that I've done to you both and I hope we can move past it. Im not asking you to forgive me anytime soon but since we're all basically living in the same house I thought it would be a good idea to at least try to get along for the sake of our family" he said.
"I don't think you understand Kason. This is our family. Yes you're technically family by blood but you've never acted like it so it's going to take a long long while for us to-"
"Not me. You. I don't hold grudges. Kason yeah what you did was wrong. Especially what you did to our brother. However,I do forgive you and I will move past it as long as you don't do anything else that will cause me to loose the trust again. Because once it's gone forever that's it" I said.
Lyla looked at me annoyed and I shrugged as she sighed again.
"Fine. But as she said. One more thing and you're out" Lyla said.
He nodded and smiled a little bit.
"Yes I understand. I won't....wait what did I do to your brother?" He said.
He looked at us confused and we walked over to sit next to him.
"You know what we're talking about. That whole situation with Amanda wasn't right and you need to make it up to him somehow if he lets you" I said.
He looked towards the door and then back at us.
"Amanda..what does she have to do with him? I really don't know what you're talking about. If I did I would have apologized to him earlier but I really don't.." he said.
"So you don't remember Amanda leaving him for you?" Lyla said.
I could tell she was upset now and I gave her a look saying 'chill' without letting Kason know how she was feeling.
He shook his head no and I walked over to close his bedroom door then went back to sit.
"This family doesn't need anymore stress or problems. If you're going to bring any of that into it then you should just leave now because we will not put up with it" Lyla said.
"And it's not our choice to tell you what happened but you need to know that he is still very very upset about it and he won't let it go until something is done. Which can either be two things. One you make it up to him in the most extraordinary way possible,or two something happens to you of his choice to make you suffer" I said.
He looked at me with wide eyes and I tried to hold in my laughter.
"Are you..is he serious? Like will that really happen? What if I apologize to him and he doesn't accept it?" He said.
I shrugged and stood up as Lyla followed.
"Who knows. But it's better to try and find out for yourself before things get worse right? Just be careful" Lyla said.
We walked out and closed the door behind us as we ran back to our room, shut the door and let out the laughs that we'd been holding in.
Our brother was sad about it for some time but he wouldn't hurt anyone over it anymore.
When we move on we completely move on and that's what he did a long time ago.
Yes,seeing kason here and finding out that he's basically family isn't really sitting right with him but there's nothing he can do about it.
Plus he's not that immature.
We layer down and talked all night until we felt extremely tired.
There was a small lamp sitting on the desk next to the door and I waited for Lyla to settle down in her bed before walking over to it and dining it down some.
Since this was new house I didn't want to turn it all the way off if we might need it at some point in the night.
I walked back over to my bed and stared up at the ceiling.
Today has been one of the most stressful days of my life and yet..I still feel a bit empty.
I can't explain it,it's just like a whole in my chest.
I know things have gone wrong but it's not bothering me as much as it used to or as much as it should I guess and I sort of feel bad.
I looked over at Lyla who was facing the other way and I turned back towards the door.
I miss my house.
I miss my town.
I miss my friends and my job and the life that I built after years of finally being somewhat accepted into that place.
We've moved around for so long I just don't have the energy to move again and again and again.
But I do want to go back.
So no matter what,I'm going to make it back in one piece.
I'm going to get us another apartment or our own house and we're going to live better than we ever have before and live normal lives when all of this is over.
I turned back to Lyla and I saw a light shine into the window and I sat up to see what it was.
Lyla did the same while startled me because I thought she was sleeping by now.
She turned to me then back at the window and it happened again.
But whoever is doing that didn't seem like they were trying to look into the window directly.
I wanted to dismiss it and I layed back down but of course Lyla stood up and walked I've rot my bed pulling my arms slightly.
"No no no don't lay down now. We have to go see what that is" she said.
I groaned and sat up.
"No we don't. Why would we want to do that in the middle of the night. You do know that's how people die in horror movies right?" I said.
She laughed and pulled me to get up and I followed her to the door as she stayed watching the window.
Before she opened the door she turned off the lamp and turned to me.
"Hold this. We will need this and let's take Kason with us just in case. He said he wants to do something right? Well we know our own brothers would tell us to stay up here and let them have all of the fun so this time it's up to us" she said.
I rolled my eyes and took the lamp as we walked slowly and quietly towards Kason's room.
Just as we stood in front of it,someone tapped my shoulder and I dropped the lamp, causing it to make a really loud noise and roll down the hallway.
Why. Just why.
