Chapter.Two

Marietta yawned hard as she walked home with Jessy. At last,she was done for the day. Another day would be an entirely different story as she would be undertaking another job again.

"Do you have to do these two to three jobs a day?. I thought you had your parents debts sorted out already." Jessy said. Her voice filled with concern as they clung to each other.

"I thought so but it turns out that I was only walking in deceit. I just hope Ramsey gets back to college sooner. I really need him back on track again." Marietta swallowed hard.

Her eyes were beginning to get moistened again. She was indeed tired of all these but who could she tell?.

A gasp from Jessy, Marietta stopped to look at what she was pointing at.

"Do you know that guy from somewhere?. I had been staring at him from a distance. He seems too suspicious."

Marie's eyes got to where Ramsey sat and she turned to Jessy." We will see again tomorrow. Good bye."

Waving a hand at her, she sped off.

The stranger on seeing her, turned and ran away.

"Ramsey!.. Are you alright?. Did he hurt you?. "Marietta asked, agitated already..

"Of course not, why will he do that when I can protect myself?. He was just asking for a few places.He meant no harm."

"Ramsey, you just can never know if he meant one or not. Why are you out here?. I thought I told you to wait with Jennifer in."

"Sis, I am seventeen. I understand you are concerned because of how things had been but I need to move out too. I will be careful from now on, I promise."

Marietta nodded. She could see the faint saddened expression on his face. Who wouldn't be burdened and bothered at his age?. She had to stop treating him like a little child.

"Alright. Let's go in. I need to prepare you something to eat."

Getting in, Marietta saw the table made up already with food on it. She looked at Ramsey and he avoided her gaze.

"I thought I told you not to stress yourself again."

"No, I didn't. Besides your boyfriend helped me with this. Such a kind fellow."

"Boyfriend?. Alex?!."

"Of course yes. Who else should it be?. Do you two have a fight again?."

"I don't want to talk about it."

"Alright. I will be in my room if you need me." Ramsey walked away and her phone rang which she picked up.

📞 Marie, I thought i apologized already. Why are you acting this way?. You know how much I really do love you.

📞So you think just an apology can solve this?. Alex, I am done with you and I don't want you contacting me anymore.Understood?.

📞Marie, you can't believe Jess over me.She is obviously jealous of our relationship and you know that.

Marie scoffed out where she was. This guy obviously thinks this was still a joke.

📞 The pictures and videos were wrong too?.Dont fool me Alex.I can't buy that anymore!..I am tired!.

📞Marietta, think about how we've been together all this while.Think about our...

📞Can you just shut up and let me be?!.Can you just stop telling yourself lies and come clean for once?.

📞Do you want me accusing myself against what I never did?.

📞 You bastard. I called Annie already and she confirmed that you two had been together way back even before we met!.

📞I see that you got no trust between us.

📞 Trust?..You broke that the day I discovered how despicable you are. I ain't that desperate for love, you know.

📞Is it because I keep apologizing that's why you take me for a fool?.No man would want to be with a boring hag like you.

📞What did you just say?.

📞Really?.Is this how you felt about me all this while?.

She clenched her fists beneath her knees. Her mind was void of thoughts now.

📞Consider us done as you've said because Annie is much more better than you are.Get that into your f****d head.

Marietta ended the conversation and sobbed between her knees.

FLASHBACK

SEVEN YEARS AGO

"Are you satisfied now?." Marie asked with a playful snort on her face. She had only slipped a little and had to be rushed to the hospital because Delson would not have her label it as a minor thing.

"Yes I am. I know you are very good at hiding things away from me but that must never happen with you carrying my child. I won't allow that."

"So, you were actually concerned about your baby and not me?. " She asked,a little loud, pretending to be pissed off at his words. She actually knew he always meant the best for her.

"Marie, don't use that trick on me now. Tell me, what would you like to eat?. Me or Me?. "He grinned happily as she looked at him stone faced.

"Who is playing a trick now?. " She tried hard to keep in her grin.

Delson wrapped his hands around her and she finally smiled. He knew that was what she couldn't deny.

"Let's get home first and decide that."

The two laughed happily as the bodyguards watched on.

A tap on his desk, he jolted back to where he was.

"Why are you here?. " He asked. Brenda clutched to the files with her tightly. Her Boss had always acted this absentmindedly so she wasn't that suprised.

"Just here to remind you of the Santiago's meeting which had started for some minutes now, I... "

"Why didn't you call me as soon as you can?. Get out of my way already!. " He yelled and stormed out.

Brenda snorted and walked out. Who should be pissed off at who?.
