Chapter 12
What was that? I woke from the dream, opening my eyes, hearing an obnoxious pounding that was only growing louder. It sounded like a drill was buzzing right outside my door. I rolled over, no Gavin. I crawled out of bed, walking to my dresser, rummaging and tossing on a nightie. "Gavin?" I opened the door- seeing him standing in the living room talking to a man who was actually drilling into my wall.
"Sadie!" Gavin screeched, barreling over to me, shoving me right back into the room. "What the hell are you wearing? There's a guy out there."
Yeah, no s**t. What the hell was happening? "How was I supposed to know? Who is that? What is he doing here?"
