All these little details, coupled with the incident of the bag, seemed to me very significant, and I was forced to the conclusion that there was some mystery in connection with Mrs. Blanche Stanley, as she called herself, that was worth solving. It was certainly a suspicious circumstance that she should have gone to the station to claim a bag that had been lying there over twelve months.
