Winter still lingered on the moor. Snow lay in great drifts here and there, and the wind swept along the valley with a keenness that made wraps a necessity. But the sky was cloudless, and the sun shone brilliantly. Mr. Johnson sat on a seat in front of the hotel, basking in the sun, and smoking his pipe. For a day or two I took up my abode in Prince-town.
