Chapter 10

2481 Words

Sighing, Esther followed Norman at a slower pace. Four weeks. Surely she could last four weeks. The job she’d lasted for the least amount of time came to mind. Although she shouldn’t have been surprised she’d been fired before the first day had ended. Punching the boss was never a good idea. He’d been a complete arsehole and more than deserved it. At the time she’d been amazed she’d managed to ignore his belittling comments for three hours. The shopping was completed half an hour later. Before Esther could suggest food again, a message came through on her phone from Elvera. It was an address and orders to collect a necklace. The front door would be left unlocked and the necklace was in the back bedroom on the left of the house. Norman also received a message. He looked up from his phone.
