Lynn and I sat in the garden over coffee.
"You are really going to let them drag your name through the mud for days?" Lynn asked. "This is infuriating."
"It is normal." I shrugged lightly. "People always sympathize with the side that looks weaker. Now that everyone knows I am a Reed, they want to cast me as the powerful villain. Let them talk for a few more days."
Lynn almost laughed. "And then?"
"Then I let them turn me into the underdog," I said. "Once they believe I am the one being cornered, they will start defending me without being asked. That is when we release the real evidence."
Lynn looked at me with unmistakable approval. "No wonder your grandfather adores you. You really do understand how this game is played."
"I am curious about one thing, though." I took a sip of coffee
