My father requested that I go with him to his office today. The whole reason I’m majoring in business in college is that I am expected to take over for my father when he retires. I am the prodigal son, so to speak.
Austin and Adam are also expected to enter the business world, but they don’t have the same pressure that I do. Austin chose to pursue a financial degree, and Adam is pre-law. My parents supported them because they knew their career choices would benefit the company.
As for me, I was never really given a choice. Honestly, if I had the option, I think I would have pursued architecture. I love the design and beauty of building something.
