Mate and House cleaning.

Xavier’s POV

The moment I sensed us approaching the border to my territory I feel a strong urge to shift and run free in the woods and I don’t even bother questioning it because I know Hades and I need to let off some steam.

Before I change my mind I tell Chris to pull over at the roadside. I get out of the car once it comes to stop and Chris looks at me questioningly but I ignore him.

“I’m going for a run and I might take a while so don’t wait for me, park the car at the house and go home to your mate you’re dismissed for the day”. I tell him and walk to the tree line of the woods that separates us from unclaimed territory before he can say anything else.

I strip out of my clothes and stand directly under the moonlight, letting myself bath in the moonlight.

I shift into my Lycan form allowing Hades to take full control of our body as the feeling intensifies.

Strangely we have no scents to track yet our instincts know which direction to go and it leads us towards the mystical crossroads.

It felt as though something was calling for us in that direction and it’s unsettling for us.

Hades takes a huge breath to try and sniff out any animal to hunt and we nearly stumble on our feet as a swirl of emotions attack us once we smell that delicious familiar scent we’ve spent the whole year craving for.

‘Mate, it's our Mate’.

Hades says the one word we’ve craved to hear since we came of age, He practically howls out loud enough for the whole region to hear happily.

Her red fur is the first thing that comes into view. It's blood red, glinting in the moonlight light like rubies, even those could not match up to her beauty.

She looked very magnificent and the raw power radiating off of her isn't any less than mine.

She tilts her head and slowly observes Hades who is practically purring because of the attention.

She step out of shadows fully and shifts back to an equally stunning girl with such beautiful blue eyes I lose myself looking in them.

She chuckles in amusement at our reaction and I go to shift back to my human form but snarl when I smell a rogue behind her.

A young pup comes out and hands her some clothes and shoes to change into, she smiles at me and moves behind back to the shadows to change.

I stare down the kid who looks like He’d cry any minute before shifting to my human form regaining control from Hades.

Our mate steps out and gives him a small nod and he takes off back in the direction they’d come from and disappears out of sight.

I study her face and my mind instantly connects it to a younger version of her causing me to suck in a breath as realization dawns upon me.

‘Hades, did you know she was our mate before now?’ I ask my Lycan who goes quiet and sighs.

‘I had a hunch but I wasn’t sure until now. I mean the thought of having her as a mate never bothered me in fact it excited me. I guess my subconscious felt it’ he says thoughtfully.

“Well hello to you too Lycan Alpha, nice to meet you….. once again I guess.” She says snapping my attention back to her.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to be rude, I just had to confirm something with my ‘beast’. I quickly apologize for fear of angering her.

“I figured that out since my wolf can’t seem to shut her mouth right now” she chuckles and the sound is hypnotic.

“Hi gorgeous, it’s a pleasure to see you again princess” I say to her gently and approach her as memories from my childhood I’d forgotten flash before my eyes.

“You remember me, I thought you’d forgotten about me” she asks quietly I feel a pang of guilt in my chest for not looking harder.

“I couldn’t find you, my dad and I kept looking everywhere for you but we never found any trace of you. I started losing hope but I never gave up the search for you princess” I quickly explain to her and she looks stunned.

“Okay.... I’ll explain everything to you tomorrow but I have to go now. My friend is waiting for me and I know she’ll be worried sick right now. It’s been a long day and I’m afraid my body is shutting down.” she says tiredly.

I touch her cheek and she leans into the touch sighing contentedly before she grabs the back of my head and crashes her lips to mine in a searing kiss while Hades howls in delight.

“Sooooo…… can we go now Cos I’m sure Cynthia just sent me the twentieth text and another voice mail that I’ve lost count of” She says and once we pull away and I look at her incredulously.

“Are you telling me that ‘Thee Clary’ that crazy huntress couldn’t shut up about in the whole last year is you?” I ask and she laughs at my choice of words. The sounds she makes are ever so addicting.

“I believe that would be me mate” she practically purr at the last word and Hades does a little happy dance.

I scoop her up and carry her bridal style making her squeal as she instinctively wraps her hands around my neck and studies my face with utter interest and admiration.

I look down when her breathing evens out and I’m surprised to see she has already fallen asleep.

I walk out of the tree line after and walk straight to the pack house while the pack members eye me incredulously.

I hear a gasp and meet Cynthia’s gaze as she struggles to keep her smile at bay and smirks down at my mate who burrows deeper into my embrace.

“Sooooo… is this actually what I think it is or am I supposed to call for back up. Cos if I’m right about you and my bestie then I have a feeling you’ll need a Piece of advice Alpha dearest. Clary doesn’t share and she’s as possessive as any Alpha male, maybe even more so you might want to do a thorough house cleaning.” Cynthia links me and I have only one thought in mind, ‘Oh s**t’ as Hades snarls dangerously at me.

“Or you can call the hospital to be on standby because a few females are going to need the hospital when she wakes up” she smirks triumphantly and walks towards me before kissing my mate on the lips softly making me growl at her.

That seems to startle my mate to wake up with as I glare at the culprit.
