My Twin Mates

Chapter 2- The Dance

The week flies by and Katie and I are our way home from school Friday afternoon, Belle and the beasts all went shopping for the dance so I know I don’t have to worry about her picking on me.

“What are you going to wear tonight?” Katie asks, she is a good foot taller than me and gorgeous, I know Belle hates the attention we get but we are a sight. Katie is tall slim with bright green eyes and my black hair and blue eyes stand out. I am not slim but I’m not fat either I am told it is an hourglass figure.

“Nothing special” I reply I really don’t like school dances but the neighbouring packs will be there and I would love to meet my mate. Sapphire is constantly on the look out for him and she will know the instant we meet him.

“Oh cmon why not? I feel like we need to look like a bunch of hotties tonight” Katie says flipping her long hair.”It will piss Belle off if we look better than her and her little beasts especially since they bought new clothes!” Katie lost her sister last year in a car accident and she despises that Belle treats her twin the way she does.

“Hahaha” I laugh “ alright let’s go to my house and go through my closet and I can ask my parents if I can get ready at your place, u think your parents would be okay with that?”

“Hang on”, Katie says as her eyes slightly glaze over- she is mind linking her mom to ask, “ yep, mom says no problem she would love to see you”

“Sweet!” I say I love Katie’s parents, her sister’s death hit them really hard and it brought Katie and I so much closer. We reach my house and as we enter the house I call out “ Mom? Where are you?” I don’t want to use the mindlink cuz then Belle would know what we are doing.

“Up here” I hear my mom’s voice from upstairs, we climb the stairs and I find her in her office. I walk over and kiss her on the cheek “ hey mom can I go get ready for the dance at Katie’s house? Her mom already said that it’s okay with her”

“Sure, honey” my mom says “ hi Katie my dear how are you?”she is happy I am going to the dance because I usually skip out.

“ I am doing real good, and better now that Maddie is gonna come out tonight” Katie answered with a smirk on her face.

“Haha, well I am glad you girls have fun tonight and Maddison curfew is midnight as usual” my mom says with a smile.

“Okay mom love ya!” I say heading out her office and to my room. Katie goes thru my closet and grabs some dresses she thinks I should wear and I grab my toiletries from the bathroom. We throw it all in a bag and I grab a pair of comfortable black heels, Katie nods her head in agreement and we head towards the door.

“Have fun tonight baby sis” Zack calls as he walks into the house and we are leaving.

“Thanks bro” I call back waving as we leave. Katie’s house is only a couple blocks away so we get there in no time. Her house is very similar to ours, a middle class house, but it’s decorated with her mother’s touch and I find it beautiful.

“ Hi mom” Katie calls as we enter the house and head to Katie’s room.

“Hey Katie, hi Maddie how are you sweetie?” Are you girls hungry?” Katie’s mom asks from her bedroom door.

“Hi mama Kent” I say rushing over to give her a hug.

“Sure mom, if you could bring some snacks and drinks that would be awesome!” Katie asked smiling softly.

“ Okay I will bring them up soon” her mother replied.

“Thanks mama Kent” I say. “Okay Katie, what have you decided I am going to wear?” She is the fashionista between us and I trust her judgment. She pulls a maroon dress out of the bag, it has a low bodice and slit up the side, it’s one of my favourites but it is quite revealing.

“Ummm are you sure this will be okay for a school dance” I say pulling it over my head and flipping my hair out of the way. I look in her mirror as I put on my heels and glance up at her.

“Hell yeah girl you look hot!” She says as she puts on a gorgeous blue dress that fits her like a glove. She comes and stands in the mirror with me. We do look smokin hot I think. Just then her mom brings in some snacks. We scarf them down, do our makeup and hair, both down as we both have long flowing hair, and head down the stairs to go.

“We are heading out now mama and I am taking the car” Katie says as we are leaving.

“Okay sweetheart home by midnight” her mom says. We look at each other and laugh it is awesome our parents give us the same curfews. We both have our license but neither of us have wheels but she is allowed to use her mom’s car. Her parents haven’t bought her a car yet and it is a sore spot because of her sisters accident.

The dance isn’t at the school it is at a hall in town and as well drive there we sing along to the radio. For some reason Sapphire has been antsy but I chalk it up to her not wanting to go to the dance. We pull up to the hall and as we get out of the car Sapphire is really acting up and I am cautiously wondering what she’s sensing.

Katie senses something is up and looks at me with a frown” is everything okay?” She asks.

“I don’t know Sapphire is sensing something but I don’t know what.” I say as we walk to the doors to the hall.

“Maybe your mate is here”Katie says, she has yet to meet her mate either and she is excited to meet him as well. Her wolf Jade is as big as mine but she is just about white with bright green eyes.

We walk in the doors and I immediately see Belle and her beasts fawning over a group of boys. Inside Sapphire says over and over”mate, mate,mate our mate is here. I look at Katie and the look on my face says it all.

“He’s here isn’t he?” She ask’s already knowing the answer. I nod my head and I can smell the most delicious scent of bergamot and vanilla, it is the most perfect scent in the world. I am following the scent when I look up and I am right in front of the boy Belle has been fawning over. He is so hot!! Tall with black short hair and the most gorgeous just about black eyes I have ever seen. He looks dangerous but sexy as hell. He stands up as soon as I get there and grabs be looks me in the eye and says “MATE!”

The look on Belles face says it all she is furious!! I look at him and say “Mate” I can’t believe it, it’s him!
