CHAPTER 9:
A DEAL WITH THE ENEMY
In an alley at night, Jason and Crowe were in the blue van waiting for something.
“Are you sure about this, Vince?” said Jason.
“Nothing is for sure, except that we gotta get rid of that stuff in the back.”
“I still think we should have waited. You know, with what happened back at the house---”
“And what makes you so certain that your girlfriend wasn’t involved in this?”
“First: Melanie is no longer my girlfriend, and second: she would never become like us. Why do you think we broke up?”
“Okay, whatever... Here they are.”
A white van was approaching, and they got out of their van. There were three men in the other van, they got out, and Crowe told the driver:
“Tim, how’s it goin’?”
