CHAPTER 4:
SHOTS IN THE DARK
In a house with a large yard and no neighbor houses nearby, Liz was cooking in the kitchen, and John was in the living room watching news reports on a laptop. Then he got surprised when he heard the reporter say:
“The alleged black market trafficker Robert Cox was shot and killed near an abandoned building, along with some of his men. The police refused to comment if they believe that the so called Crime Killers were involved again, or if it was a hit from some competitor. No other information about this case at this---”
John got up, went in the kitchen and said:
“Our pals were murdered!”
“What?” said Liz.
“The guys that set us up – Robert and his pals. I just watched a news report from last week. I watched it back then too, but I didn’t pay attention. B
