CHAPTER 5:
CONSEQUENCES
Police cars and fire trucks were all around the destroyed house within minutes; the firemen were putting the fires out, the police officers were going around the place checking for leads. But under the house there was a tunnel, where John and Liz entered right before the explosion. They were walking through the dark underground passage, until they reached a sewer and a leader. John climbed, removed the sewer lid and looked around – there was an empty road. First he climbed out, then Liz.
“Are you alright, Liz?” said John.
“No! We almost got blown up!”
The smoke from the house, which was about 500 feet from there, was visible.
“Our house! The boys! The Crime Killers! I saw one of them. I shot him several times… and nothing. I’m sure I hit him!” said John confus
