I was about to test her theory when I heard the door close behind us. She jumped away as I turned around as nonchalantly as possible to see who it was.
I felt her breath of relief when she saw it was a nurse. After instructing me to take my Dad back so they could both rest she reminded us that we would know have to adhere to visiting hours from now on.
“I’ll take Dad back, then give you a lift home. Meet me outside once you have seen your Mum ?”
