I didn’t get Geo’s message that night until I remembered I had turned my phone off.
I was composing a message apologising again when Josh got back from theirs after picking up sone work he has left. I was starting to suspect he did it on purpose as an excuse to check in on Patty.
He was usually happier when he came back, especially if he showed up early in the morning and she didn’t have a guest.
“Well you are still in the dog house.” He announced upon his return while I was trying to compose my message.
“I don’t know how you made it worse but Patty said she woke up in a foul mood this morning.”
I knew she was pretending to be indifferent. I stopped my reply, deciding instead to change my tactic. If she wanted to play hard to get two could play that game.
