3:The Hunter’s Instinct

261 Words
Ember sat across from Marcus, recounting her encounter with Asher in detail. Marcus listened intently, his eyes narrowing as Ember described Asher's piercing eyes and charming smile. "I don't know what it is about him," Ember said, "but I have a feeling that he's hiding something." Marcus nodded thoughtfully. "Your instincts are usually spot on, Ember. If you think Asher is hiding something, it's worth investigating further." Ember nodded, determination rising within her. She was a hunter, and it was her job to uncover the truth. "I'll keep an eye on him," Ember said. "See if I can dig up any information about his past or his connection to the supernatural." Marcus nodded. "Be careful, Ember. We don't know what we're dealing with here." Ember smiled wryly. "I've been dealing with supernatural creatures for years, Marcus. I think I can handle myself." As she left Marcus's office, Ember couldn't shake the feeling that she was walking into something much bigger than herself. She made her way back to her apartment, her mind racing with questions about Asher and his true nature. When she arrived home, she began to dig into Asher's background, scouring the internet for any mention of him. But the more she searched, the more she realized that Asher seemed to be a ghost – invisible and nonexistent. Ember's instincts screamed at her that something was off. She knew she had to be careful, but she couldn't help feeling drawn to Asher. As she sat in the darkness of her apartment, Ember wondered what she had gotten herself into.
