5:The warning

248 Words
The Warning Asher stood in the alley, staring at the paper in his hand. The word "Ember" seemed to burn into his brain, filling him with unease. What did this mysterious figure want with Ember? And why were they warning him away? Asher's mind racing, he decided to visit Ember. He needed to know if she was in danger, and if so, what he could do to protect her. As he arrived at Ember's apartment, he noticed that the door was slightly ajar. Asher's instincts kicked in, and he pushed the door open slowly. “EMBER”? he called out, his voice low and cautious. There was no response. Asher stepped inside, his eyes scanning the room for any signs of disturbance. That's when he saw it. A piece of paper on the coffee table, with a message scrawled in red ink: "Stay away from Asher." Asher's eyes narrowed. Who was behind these mysterious messages? And what did they want with Ember? Suddenly, he heard a noise behind him. Asher spun around, ready to defend himself. But it was Ember, standing in the doorway with a look of surprise on her face. "Asher, what are you doing here?" she asked, her voice firm but wary. Asher held up the piece of paper. "I got this message. What's going on, Ember?" Ember's eyes widened, and she took a step back. "Where did you get that?" she demanded. Asher's eyes locked onto hers. "Tell me, Ember. What's going on?"
