Cal got home several minutes after Sierra, who was already barricaded behind her locked bedroom door. “I know you’re in here,” he said, knocking on her door. “We have to talk.” He heard something behind the door, and a moment later, Sierra opened it. She wore the same tank top, but instead of the shorts she’d had on earlier, she now wore a pair of pajama shorts. “Look, Dad, I’m sorry.” Yeah, sure sounded like she was. Cal didn’t say that, though.
