Fabian Nhabokhov was one tricky little sumbitch to wrangle.
Once he took off, I had to rely on my ability to mindlink those around me to get even the faintest trace of him. Nat and Kristy each took off after him, trying to track him through the terrain they had studied while volunteering to do late-night patrols beforehand. We even had Monica trying to entrap him in her cougar form, as well as Mira and Aly calling out directions the best they could, trying to tell us where Fabian was hiding and darting in-and-out of.
And yet, we still couldn’t find him.
“Where in the hell did he go?” Saige asked in my head. “I can’t even read the fils de pute’s mindlink from wherever he is?”
