Danny (Lily’s dad)
“When I was about eight-teen, maybe nine-teen years old, I met my mate. She was about the same age as me and her name was Claire. However, she wasn’t exactly from my pack. She was the daughter of an elder involved with an organization that saw themselves above all Werewolf kind. Even though they were a type of Werewolf themselves.
When we found each other we were ecstatic. However, once her father found out I wasn’t part of their so-called ‘sacred organization’ we were forbidden from seeing each other, let alone being together. That, nevertheless, didn’t stop us from trying.
We saw each other every chance we got. Whether it be in school, or sneaking out. Even so, nothing in life lasts long, and this was no different. A little while after we started seeing each other she started to try to get me to join the organization so we could be together as official mates, and so her father would accept me as such.
After going through this for a while, as well as having some of our friends try to split us up, it got to be too much stress and we ended up getting into a huge fight over it. So we decided to take a break from seeing each other for a while. However, the presumed ‘break’ turned into us just being over and we never got back together, even if we wanted to.
Her Father ended up finding a new mate for her, set up by the organization of course. But she made one last futile attempt at convincing me to join. I just couldn’t do it though. Those people were seriously messed up and I didn’t want any part of it. Even if it did mean losing my mate. The girl that I was made for and that was made for me. I never really understood why she would be that person to me if it was bound to end from the beginning, but that’s just how it worked out.
A couple of months later I was still nursing my broken heart, when I met someone new at a party my friends had dragged me to. A girl named Bell. She seemed to be my mate as well. I thought she was my second chance at happiness, my second chance for a family.
Boy was I wrong.
She gave me the family I had always wanted, and in return I did everything in my power to keep her happy. To keep her by my side. But nothing ever seemed to work, or at least it never lasted long enough to matter.
She turned out to have charmed herself so that I would think she was my mate, when in reality she was just some random Witch I probably never would have gotten involved with if it wasn’t for the charm. Her charm spell had worked to, but it was weaker than she needed it to be. It made it to where she had control over me, but it was fairly delicate.
I discovered just recently it was because I was still part of the pack and connected to the Alpha. That’s why she made such a big deal about leaving, so she could completely control me. Basically, it forced me to be on the sidelines of my own consciousness. I had to watch everything unfold around me, and watch myself be the cause to most of it without being able to change any of it or to intervene. It was torture, and I couldn’t do anything to stop it for a long time. I couldn’t control my own actions or help but chase after Bell whenever she left me.”
Lily
“That is, until Lily found her mate.” We’ve been listening to my Dad’s story of the past for a while now, and no one has spoken up till now.
“How did me finding my mate change anything? You were just as violent, if not more, once me and Luca found each other.” I look at him with confusion and a little bit of irritation as I ask this. Luca takes my hand in his to try and calm me down.
“Well, by finding your mate it meant your Mother lost a bit of control over you, and in turn, me. That’s part of the reason why she, or rather we, took you the day we came back into the pack. That’s also why she manipulated your dream the night after Luca marked you, to scare you back into submission. It was her last chance to scare you into going back to her and keeping what was left of her charm spell intact."
“What do you mean?”
“I mean that if you and Luca hadn't finished the mating process her charm spell over me wouldn't have been broken. She has lost control over me and she can't really do anything to control you.”
My jaw drops. “Are you serious?”
I look to Luca then back over to my father. “But what about her army?”
He laughs a bit under his breath, almost as if what I just mentioned shouldn’t even be relevant. “An army? She was bluffing when she told you that. Like I said, she will try to intimidate you.”
I gasp softly and look at Luca again. I can see the hesitation and disbelief in his eyes and feel it through the mate bond. But I can still see hope mixed in, no matter how little there may be.
My Father continues talking. "But, there is one thing you need to know."
Of course there's a but. I think to myself.
"Bell is a Hybrid."
Everyone is even quieter than before with shocked looks on their faces.
I look over to Alpha Liam. “What should we do now?" My voice is quiet and full of shock, but he still stays calm.
“I don’t know Lily. For now we’ll see if someone can get here to tell us whether or not he’s even telling the truth.” I nod once to tell him I understand. I then turn to look at Luca, my shock forgotten when I look into his beautiful blue eyes.
“We should find the boys and start packing. We need to start back at school soon anyways.” School has been out these past couple of weeks for a holiday break which is why Luca has been able to stay by my side, it’s also why we came back to the pack at this time. He nods to me and we turn away from the group as they start to talk amongst themselves about what the next steps should be for the pack.

Once we find the boys we catch them up on everything that has happened the last couple of days.
“Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first?” They wanted the bad news.
We told them that Dad showed back up and I could see them physically freeze and it only got worse when we told them Mom might be a Hybrid. Although, the tension in their bodies seemed to lessen when we told them that her threat of war was possibly a bluff. We then told them to start packing. That seemed to make the rest of their tension vanish and looks of confusion were replaced on their faces as they looked at each other then back at us.
After that we went to get our things ready to move into the new house. It didn’t take long for me and the boys, most of our things were still in boxes from coming back to the pack in the first place. So I helped Luca get his things ready. Not long after, going on our way.
The rest of the day we spent getting arranged and unpacking our things. We finished our day by getting things sorted to start back at school tomorrow. Andrew is still in middle school but Daniel and I will be going to the high school with Luca. Him and I are only a month apart so we’re in the same grade. That means we should have classes together.
We shall see tomorrow. (Cue the internal groaning)
