10: Wednesday: Mixed Bag IT was eleven o'clock when Callaghan awoke. He got out of bed, stretched, looked out of the window. A pale, cold morning sunshine illuminated the houses on the opposite side of the street in a half-hearted manner. He thought vaguely that it would probably rain some time during the day, and then wondered what the hell he cared anyhow. He threw off his pyjamas and began to walk about the bedroom, turning over odd points in his mind.
