I got this feeling
inside my bones
It goes electric, wavy when I turn it on
Justin Timberlake- Can't stop this feeling

45 minutes flew by and they were still on the road. Wherever the party was held it was quiet far.
Fiona had gotten a bright red gown and a red mask glittering on the least reflection and the least amount of light as it was covered in crystals. She complimented the look with a bold red lipstick and a black clutch purse matching her black pencil heels. She was definitely going to be the center of attraction that night.
Harris on the other hand cared less about what he was wearing though his family wouldn't stop complimenting how good he looked. He had gotten a black slim fit suit with a white shirt and a black slender bowtie. His hair had been miraculously styled into a quiff by courtesy of Fiona. It took them hours by the way. He was wearing a silver mask which went half way with few diamond crystals around the eye rims and an ash feather at one side. It looked beautiful, though Harris wouldn't here any of it. To him he looked hideous.
Whoever Maria Christensen was she was definately and undisputably filthy rich, more than the Coopers. She had sent out limo cars to pick up all her guests to the venue and Fiona wouldn't stop bouncing in the car. She was sitting with Harris at the end of the car whiles regi and Charles sat on one side with the James and his wife on the other. Mrs James didn't look any less either. She had opted for a white feathery gown and a white mask covering her whole face which Harris couldn't help but remind himself of the Jaba wakis.
He's only going with them to get his car back. He'll make his disappearance 10 minutes into the party.
Not long after that they pulled into the biggest house compound Harris had ever seen. The gates were very high and made of thick iron bars making it really majestic. Security cameras were all over spying on whoever made an entrance. Whoever the Christensen's were, they surely knew how to make a first impression. After a while in the driveway, the trees finally cleared to reveal the most massive Victorian mansion Harris had ever seen. Fiona let out an audible squeak since she couldn't hold her excitement anymore.
"Oh my god this is so beautiful." She fawned darting her eyes through the windows and not being able to sit still. Harris just ignored it all and scrolled through his phone which was spamming with messages by the way. 10% by his teammates and the rest by anonymous girls who got his number from a friend who passed it on by a friend from a friend who knew someone on the soccer team. This was Harris' life.
"We're here.." The driver stated from the partitioned board.
"Alright fellas, let's go." James said with enthusiasm and got down helping his wife out. The rest followed with Harris hooking his arms with his sister's after he led her out of the vehicle.
There were many people, a lot. Everyone was dressed in a fancy attire talking all formally and sipping wine in the process. Harris got bored already.
"I can't believe I'm at an actual masquerade ball!" Fiona squeaked with delight fanning herself.
Harris narrowed his eyes on her,
"Do you mind, I need my eardrums."
Fiona shot him a silly look. "Blah blah blah.... Way to ruin the mood mysterious guy." She scoffed.
Harris simply sighed and led her into the mansion. Though he wasn't into the party, He couldn't help but be dazzled. His tiny green orbs darted around the interior feeling mesmerized. On the ceiling were colorful antique Indian art glowing up the room with the help of the massive chandelier hanging from it. The walls had expensive paintings lining them too. Serene music floated the background giving the perfect ambiance needed for the ball. Light chatter filled the air with giggles erupting from here and there. Glasses clicked and the sweet smell of cakes and fresh fruits flooded the air greeting them with a burst.
"This isn't so bad." Harris confessed not having enough of the interior.
"Not bad? This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen since that meat turn over regi made." Fiona whispered.
Harris laughed looking at her. She simply shrugged and said she wanted to see more of the place so she kissed his cheeks goodbye and took her leave.
Since they had just arrived Harris was waiting only a while so he could finally make his disappearance. Slipping out was going to be difficult since it was far away, he'll call for an uber then.
He pulled out his phone only to realize his battery was almost dead.
"Fuck." He hissed.
As he was about selecting his location, someone bumped into him spilling their water all over his suit.
"Oh my god I'm so sorry.." Exclaimed the girl who had just bumped into him. Harris looked up to see a small oval faced brunette smiling apologetically up at him. She had taken her mask off in her hand.
"I should have looked where I was going, I'm really sorry." She frantically apologized trying desperately to get some water off Harris' suit with her pink flowery handkerchief. Harris new that face but he couldn't recall where they had met.
The girl looked up again but this time with a questioning look,
"Is it me or you look familiar?" She asked still wiping his suit.
"Honestly I was about thinking the same thing." Harris confessed.
He knew the girl didn't accidentally bump into him, she had done it on purpose. But the boy decided to play along for the fun of it. After all he had nothing doing.
"Oh I remember you now," she said faking surprise. "You are on the Wolfhard team aren't you?" She smiled. Harris nodded in the affirmative.
She stopped wiping and stretched out her hand.
"I'm Darcy, I'm also a senior at Wolfhard high." She smiled flashing her pearly white teeth's.
Harris smiled back courteously and shook her hand. "And I'm Harris cooper. Quiet unfortunate we met through these circumstances." He said taking a look at his suit hoping to make her feel guilty. She could have just walked up and said hi, Harris didn't know why she opted for the classic 'bumping into and spilling the drink all over'. What was this? 1941?
"I'm really sorry, I'm always clumsy like that." She apologized. "Lemme make it up to you then, I'll grab you a punch?"
Harris didn't know what to say so he simply nodded.
"A punch then...." She flashed another pearly white smile before taking her leave.
The boy sighed and brought out his phone only to realize it was at 1%. He gritted his teeth in annoyance and slipped it back into his breast pocket.
"I leave you three seconds and you start hitting on girls." Fiona grinned mischievously appearing beside him once again. "I'm impressed."
Harris scoffed, "trust me I'd be anywhere but here."
Fiona shrugged. "Well whiles you've been here hitting on girls I was taking my stroll when I heard some girls talking about a mischievous cute guy."
"Really.." Harris faked interest.
"Seriously Harris, the guy looks so cool and dark and mischievous every girl is talking about him. He moves so majestically like a prince." She fawned.
"Oh really.."
"Yes. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see him." She giggled. "Oh my god there he is!" Fiona fanned herself smiling like a 5 year old.
"Where..?" Harris asked looking through the crowd and seeing no one special.
"Look! Over there." Fiona pointed her fan towards the far corner where a young man wearing an all black suit stood chatting with three older men. With his back facing Harris and Fiona, Harris couldn't make the face out. The dark hair he saw suddenly picked his interest but he debunked the thoughts.
He wouldn't be here.
The person suddenly turned to reveal his matte black mask covering half of his face.
But Harris knew those brown chocolate eyes too well.
"What is he doing here.." Harris asked confused and pissed. Fiona turned to look at Harris for his sudden change of mood.
"Who?" She asked.
"The dipshit." He spat and stormed his way towards Lesley.
Lesley didn't see Harris coming. He barely knew anyone was storming towards him. By the time his senses could register, a hand grasped unto his wrist and pulled him with a strong grip away from the crowd, down a corridor and into a*****e room.
"Are you stalking me?!" Harris asked unbelievingly as he slammed the door shut behind them.
Lesley took off his mask and scoffed, massaging his wrist which had turned a light shade of pink. "You really think the world revolves around you is that not it?"
Harris glared at Lesley trying to believe him. "Then why are you here?" Harris demanded also taking off his mask.
Lesley snorted and shook his head at Harris' ignorance,
"The last time I checked I lived here. Maybe I should be the one asking that question don't you think."
Harris' jaw slacked, "you live here?!" He exclaimed in confusion finding it hard to believe Lesley. Lesley hadn't made any action in school about throwing a party, well not the typical high school parties but you get the point.
"The invitation said it was hosted by Maria Christensen. The last time I checked your surname wasn't Christensen." Harris stated trying to figure everything out.
"That's my mother's maiden name you asshole."
"And why would your mother use her maiden name on the invitation card." Harris asked getting more confused by the second. If he knew Lesley was going to be the one throwing a party the last thing he would like was for Lesley to see him there. He didn't want the dipshit to know he cared enough to come for his party.
"We have more pressing issues right now Harris..." Lesley frowned at him.
Harris gave him a quizzical glance. What could be more pressing than being revealed to that he was in Lesley's house. Right now!
"What?" He groaned.
"We're locked up." Lesley threw his mask across the room in frustration. Harris turned to glance at the door and it looked perfectly fine to him.
"Its only closed..." Harris said stating the obvious.
"Well that's the problem. It doesn't open from the inside!!" Lesley shouted in frustration. He groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose trying to keep calm.
Harris' opened his lips to form an 'O' as realization hit him. "Oh my god we are locked..." He trailed of covering his mouth with both of his palms. How the hell were they going to get out of there. And the worst part was everyone was outside having a good time. Nobody will come checking the store room randomly. He groaned at how silly he had been.
"And what were you even thinking pulling me in here like that..?" Lesley shot him an angry look. His wrists still ached a bit from the grip.
Harris simply ignored him and sat on the floor against the wall. They had to get out of there. He pulled out his phone to call Fiona for help only to realize it was dead.
"Just perfect." He hissed in annoyance.
Lesley was pacing around the room not keeping calm. If Harris didn't know him any better he'd thought he was panicking. Lesley would run his fingers through his hair from time to time or bite his nails muttering to himself.
Once again Lesley had successfully made him feel like the biggest asshole on earth. Why did he even slam the door? Why hadn't he approached him like a civilized person and talked about whatever had made him Storm up to him.
Harris was on the floor in thoughts about how Lesley might want to decapitate him now when Lesley sat down next to him. He cleared his throat and fixated his gaze on his lap.
"I didn't mean to yell at you like that." Lesley said and swallowed the bile growing in his throat feeling uncomfortable apologizing.
Harris was surprised Lesley had just said that. The typical Lesley would never even utter anything close to that. He stole a glance at Lesley and saw his Adams apple bop as he swallowed again.
His heart skipped a beat.
Harris mumbled a barely audible 'no problem' feeling awkward too. Suddenly he took notice of how close they were sitting. Their knees were touching and he was surprised Lesley wasn't pulling away, he was more surprised Lesley had sat so close. But Harris wasn't complaining, honestly, he liked it. A tingle that erupted through his system anytime Lesley made a slight movement causing a tiny friction between the sides of their knees. Harris may be appearing calm and collected but emotionally he was on fire.
Why was this happening? Why is he suddenly beginning to see Lesley in a different light?
His palms had begun to get wet and he wiped them frantically on his thighs.
It wasn't exactly goosebumps but there was something he was feeling.... An odd sensation and feeling he couldn't quiet put his finger to. It made him feel the most vulnerable he had ever felt.
Who knew a simple touch from someone could make you cave in so much?
He was having an internal rant on how this could be happening to him but each chain of thought led to a dead end. He didn't understand why he was actually realizing how good Lesley was looking tonight. How he looked so majestic in his black suit, how chocolate brown his eyes were, how those eyes seemed to be talking to him in a coded message, how he always ended up stealing glances at his lips.......
"My mom intentionally used her maiden name...." Lesley spoke up catching Harris of guard. Harris tried so hard not to stare at those pink lips... and he was failing drastically by the way.
"My dad got murdered.." Lesley added fixating his gaze on his hands. He swallowed the bile developing in his throat once again. Talking about it made him nervous.. But in a way he thought Harris deserved to know.
Harris was beyond shocked that Lesley was opening up to him. He wasn't sure if to play along he didn't know that information already. But then he realized if Lesley took a step to actually tell him then he deserved to know Harris knew.
"I know...." Harris spoke so softly Lesley almost thought he hadn't heard that. Lesley slowly nodded realizing how he had underestimated Harris. The boy pokes his nose in everything, of course he was going to find out.
He might as well tell him everything. In as much as he doesn't get along with Harris, the dirty blonde sitting next to him was the closest he had to a friend. Lesley couldn't lie about that.
"Whoever did it kept writing my mom death notes that if she doesn't give up the properties he would come after us too. So we moved here in other to get away......" Lesley paused. He sighed audibly and clenched his jaw.
"The death notes followed us here. I started receiving some too."
Harris now realized why Lesley had been troubled in school, why he had those bags under his eyes, why he looked like a corpse.
He had been receiving death notes. This wasn't a joke.
"Is that why you disappeared after that?" Harris asked with concern. Lesley had disappeared for a whole week. That definitely meant something
Lesley shook his head, "No. I went for my dads funeral." He cleared his throat trying to cover up the hitch in his voice.
Harris was blown away on how Lesley always seemed so composed when such a heavily clouded matter always hanged over his head. He made it always seem like it was okay and normal.
Harris would die is his father died. He would die twice if Fiona died.
"How do you always do it.." Harris asked still surprised. Lesley seemed to be surprising him everyday.
Lesley shrugged knowing very well what Harris meant by that question. "Well I always found myself with a little distraction.." He smirked looking at Harris. Harris gave him a dirty look realizing Lesley was talking about their subsequent fights.
"Dipshit..." Harris grunted.
Lesley broke into hysterics laughing heartedly and clutching unto his stomach to ease the pain from laughing so hard. Harris wanted to get back at him so badly but he just couldn't. Seeing Lesley laugh like that, seeing him so happy, harris' heart dropped down 600 feets. What the f**k gravity?! How his chocolate brown eyes glistened illuminating his face, how the dimple on his right cheek sunk when he laughed.
Lesley's laughter sounded like....... Music?
Okay there was definitely something wrong with Harris. Definitely.
He took slow breaths trying to even his breathing but that wasn't helping. He fisted his palm into a ball so hard that his nails began digging into his skin. That didn't prevent the weird sensation from going away either.
"Hey....." Lesley pulled him out of his thoughts. "What's wrong." He looked confusedly at Harris noticing he had zoned out and appeared uncomfortable.
Harris awkwardly cleared his throat and shook his head, "Its nothing." He coughed. "Just feeling uneasy."
Lesley glanced at his forehead to find beads of sweat forming there. He put the back of his hand on Harris' forehead checking his temperature to know if he had a fever or something.
Harris shuddered at the touch. Electric tingles erupted at where Lesley's hand laid making Harris pull back instantly.
Lesley frowned.
"Are you claustrophobic?" He asked getting genuinely concerned. Lesley hadn't seen Harris this nervous before. Not even when Mr child's had assigned them together as partners.
Harris who didn't want Lesley to know he was internally in pandemonium simply nodded lightly accepting the claim. It would be better if Lesley thought he was claustrophobic than Harris saying 'no' for Lesley to go ahead and ask more questions then he'll have no answers to give.
"Harris...." Lesley's voice trailed off with concern seeing the blood in harris' palms. He took his hand analyzing how deep the tiny cuts were. Small pints of warm blood were oozing out of them but it wasn't the pain Harris was feeling. The feeling of Lesley's hands enclosed around his made his heart fly to god knows where. It was beating so fast Harris was afraid Lesley would hear it. And when lesley looked up, for that moment their eyes met, it seemed the world stopped moving.
Time stopped. Suddenly there was no air to breath.......
Harris couldn't look away. He couldn't get himself to. Lesley's brown eyes suddenly looked so deep Harris got lost in them. He looked down at Lesley's lips but quickly looked away before he did anything crazy. This was getting way too over whelming for him.
"We have to find a way out of here." Harris stammered pulling his hands away quickly shooting up from the floor to the door. His nerves were on fire.
Lesley nodded and stood up slowly searching in the room for any tool he could find. He cleared his throat again stealing glances at Harris.
"Here.." He picked up pliers and a small knife from an old drawer and held it towards Harris. "This might help." He added not being able to look the dirty blonde in the eye. Harris took the items trying his best possible not to touch Lesley. He's going through a lot already.
After a good thirty minutes of groaning, huffing, grunting, hissing and inaudible cursing, Harris finally managed to get the door open.
He mumbled a 'see you' before walking out the door without a glance back.
