What should I do now…? Bryan thought, as he woke up the next morning, feeling empty, looking at the empty bed where his mother used to lay down…. He could still smell her odour lingering in the room… He stepped out of his trailer park, and with his truck went straight to the town where he went to a diner…. “What can I get you…?” Said a lovely voice which made Bryan look up…. “Hey…. Didn’t I see you at the rage garage?” He said, surprised to see Maya, now wearing a simple diner uniform, bun her hair, so he could see her long neck…. “Yes…. I’m a bit of surprised to find you here, too…. I worked there once in a while.” She said, with her blushing face…. They both smiled and a moment of awkwardness was present until Bryan cleared his throat and asked her… “What is your recommendation?” He asked finally… “Hope you are hungry enough…” She smiled and went to the counter…. She is lovely…. He thought, as he watched Maya taking orders, with politeness and kindness from other patrons at the diner…. “Enjoy…” said Maya, chuckling as he saw the surprise on his face as he set a full classic diner breakfast in front of him. Whoa….! How can I finish this….?! He thought with amazement in his face about the size of the meal, and a speechless look he gave at Maya, who childishly turned on her heels and still chuckling as she went to the back of the diner…. ***** She could be an issue… Said the handsome figure, looking through the window of the diner, from across the street…. His handsome face frowned for a moment before he looked at the sky, to see the eagle flying over the diner… But as soon as the eagle was nowhere to be seen, the smile went back on the face of the handsome man, it turned to a grin. I already have a plan to use her for my purpose…. He thought before vanishing into the thin air, just as Bryan turned his head outside the diner, feeling that someone was watching him…. **** “Here’s your bill” said Maya, handing Bryan what he had to pay, with a playful gesture that made Bryan turn the bill and smile…. He pulled out his phone and wallet…. Maya smiled as she felt the vibration in her apron, while she accepted the money for the breakfast, he finally had to take out… That light touch between their fingers ignites the spark in their heart…. “Thank you…” She said, as she smiled at him before turning away and started waiting for other patrons at the diner…. For the first time after a long period of brooding, grudging, and anger… Bryan felt like the air was fresh, the sun was warm, and his felt so much better…. “Ah… Sorry…” She said as she bumped into a tall, handsome man, looking mature with his grey hair that started to show at the side of his head, wearing a black shirt with a white collar on his neck, that fitted his tall athletic body as he entered the diner…. “Ah that’s okay…. Are you hurt…? Maya…?” he politely asks, making sure that she was okay after the bump…. “Ah… Yes… It’s okay…. Um… Sorry… Are you okay, Sir…? She asked, stammered by the politeness of her guest, which was supposed to be her responsibility…. “I’m fine, Maya…. Ummm… Where should I sit…?” He asked, but then…. “Ah, Bryan….” He said, waving towards the man already getting up from his seat… “Are you leaving…?” He asks, looking at the paper bag on his table…. “Could you join me for a little bit longer? I’m waiting for my friend to pick me up….” He said that made Bryan sit back… “I’m famished…” He said…. “Would you recommend a classic breakfast for me…?” He asked… “Uh… Ah… Yes…. Right away, sir…” She said, stuttered, and then, with a blushing face, hastily went to the bar to order the meal the man requested… What’s wrong with me…? She asked, feeling her heart thumping as she took a peek at her handsome guest… There was something about that preacher that she could not figure out…. His radiance seemed to cover something dark and dangerous inside…. “Whoa…. That’s huge…” the preacher said as the breakfast was laid in front of him, and started to eat it anyway… Bryan smiled and tapped on the paper bag in front of him…. “Sorry that I left you the other day…. I have got something to do…” Luc said between his bites… Bryan shrugged his shoulders, and looked out, across the road… I could have sworn someone was watching me…. “What are you looking at…?” asked Luc, following Bryan, looking across the road…. “Ah, nothing…. I just felt that someone was watching me…” He said… “Probably your guardian angel, eh…?’ the preacher said jokingly, and met by a grunt from Bryan… “I’m full…” The preacher said, giving up on his effort to finish his breakfast, so he called for the waitress in which Maya come forward…. “I am so sorry, this was a wonderful breakfast, but I can’t finish it… Could you please have it to go…? Thank you…” He said politely, irritated Bryan, as he looked at the blush on Maya’s cheek…. “Do you like her…?” the preacher said, which made Bryan stammer and be taken aback…. “I can see how you look at her, and how annoyed you are when I’m talking to her….” “I’d say, go for it…. Put your past away, and see towards a brighter future…” He said, as Maya came by their table, handing the paper bag of the leftover to the preacher…. “Ah…. She’s here…” Both Maya and Bryan looked at the red Mustang pulled over by the diner, and the beautiful goth girl got out of the driver's seat and entered the diner, and stood next. The preacher looked at Maya who stood next to Bryan, and he smiled… “Meal, Ivy…?” the preacher said, and the girl shook her head… “You have another appointment, Father….” She said, looking at both Bryan and Maya, expressionless. “Okay, Bryan… I’ll see you around,” The preacher said, and left the diner after the goth girl, who then started revving the engine and sped away from the diner… **** “Ummmm…. Maya… Excuse me….” Said Bryan, who made the girl jump in surprise and realized that she had been blocking his way…. “Ah… Oh…. I’m sorry…. Who’s the preacher…?” She asks, trying to hide her embarrassment about freezing like that… Bryan shrugged and said…. “I don’t know…. He was just the preacher at my mother’s funeral….” “Oh… I’m sorry for your loss…” “That’s okay…” Bryan said, forcing a smile as he stood up, and left the table…. “I’ll see you next time, Maya…” He said, that made the girl flustered, and smiled sheepishly…. **** “She’s hooked… I will leave her to your capable hands, Ivy…” Said the preacher to the girl, focusing on the road ahead, manoeuvring the mustang, passing the cars ahead… “Your wish is my command…. Master….” Said the girl, grinning, and vanished from the red Mustang which, whose speed increased a little, and easily outmanoeuvred cars in front of it **** Maya splashed the water on her face as she took a quick break in the restroom…. Her heart still pounding hard…. She can still feel her skin tingle…. Not because of the preacher…. Not because of Bryan… It was the goth girl… From the very moment their eyes met, she felt that she was drawn to her…. Her eyes…. Her beautiful deep blue eyes…. Her lips… Oh, how I want to kiss those lips… Oh, I’m sorry Father, I fell into temptation which I wanted to get away from…. Please, Father…. Help me…. My past sins haunted me…. Please, O Holy Spirit…. Save me, protect me…. ***** Maya feels a little better after her prayer, she then returns to the floor to wait and there she was…. The goth girl sits at the very same table that had been used by Bryan and the preacher…. Looking at her with her deep blue eyes, pulled her near the table…. “I heard you had a marvellous meal at this diner…. What would you suggest for me… Maya…?”
