Victoria
I got three miss calls from my mom in the past five minutes and I'm on my way to the arrivals area. I don't have my glasses on now cause my eyes are back to their normal color.
The flight was pretty exhausting actually. I tried to sleep but the child behind me just kept on crying and it made me mad. I tried to put in my ear plugs but it didn't even help the situation cause the plane started to move really fast moving in different directions making me really dizzy.
I didn't use my abilities to stop the child because first of all, that's a freaking child, children will always be children.
I was really relieved when the plane arrived safely, that's the longest Six hours of my life. I quickly got my things. I freshened myself in the nearest rest room I saw and now I'm here standing in the middle of the airport looking for my mom.
I snap my brows together so that I can focus on my phone. I quickly dial her number then she answers it really fast.
"Hey mom I'm here and I'm struggling to find you in the crowd," I shout through the phone ignoring the noise of the crowd.
"I don't see you yet honey, come closer at the entrance door I'm standing over here," as I do so. I push myself to the sea of people. I tiptoe my feet so that I can clearly see what is ahead of me.
I feel my heart inside of me begin to beat really faster than usual, seconds pass and I stop on my stance when I see my mom in front of me, her eyes still scanning the crowd before it finally lands on mine.
I quickly ran into her, she does the same. I put my bags down before hugging her tightly, her head is on my shoulder. Tears fall into my eyes and I can feel my lips begin to tremble. My mom slowly lifts her face before wiping the tears in my cheeks.
"I miss you so much my dear and I can't describe what I'm feeling right now. It has been so long since the last time I saw you and now I can't believe that your back with me all grown up," she says.
"Me too mom I can't believe I'm here with you again and I miss you so much," I answer looking directly brown eyes. I know it's been ten years since the last time I saw my mom but she never forgets to facetime daily when she has time to do so.
I'm too young to remember what my mom exactly looks like in person because I'm still seven years old when the last time I saw her but my dad didn't lie on what he said to me earlier today.
My mom has brown hair instead of black hair I have which I presume that I got from my dad. Her round almond shaped eyes which I actually got from her, slender nose and thin shaped lips. I noticed that my dad has full heart shaped lips which I also got again from him.
"Let's go home dear it's been a long flight for you and I cooked some lunch. We have a lot of things to catch up," she smiles and I nod interlocking her hand to mine before we go outside.

Mom and I couldn't stop chatting with each other once we got comfortable inside the car. At first it went kind of awkward to talk about the things I do back in my dad's place in front of my mom but then she told me that I can tell her these things one at a time and.
"I really appreciate it that you decided to stay with me dear, it's really hard for me to stay away from you and your dad," she glances at my side.
My mom is a workaholic woman. She is currently working in one of the most prestigious law firms in the world. She decided to stay away from us so that she can help us to be stable financially so that she can give me a better future she promised.
"Of course mom you're getting old and I want to take care of you," I say with a hint of playfulness in my voice to lighten up the mood a bit, she chuckles.
We stay in a comfortable silence after our little conversation before my attention shifts to examine the place, I lean my elbow in the window for a clearer view. The place has gloomy weather making the air outside really chilly. We stop at a red light and I get the chance to see the different establishments and houses surrounded by different kinds of trees and plants. They even sway in sinc when the chilly air hits them. The houses were built differently here, most of it were made out of wood and some were a Victorian era kind of structure.
My mom continues when the light turns green.
We've been driving for the past fifteen minutes and we are not yet at home.
"How far away is the house?" I ask my mom instead.
"We will be there any minute," She answers, returning her focus to the road.
We are now far away from the buildings and houses and now we are surrounded by really big trees. As I told you, it's really huge. I look up to the window looking at the huge trees being amazed by the environment.
I'm starting to feel safe here already.
After about a minute, mom now enters the neighborhood. I see the signage on the right side corner and I think that we just arrived.
"Welcome to Hyena-lee," I whisper while reading the sign board.
"Welcome to Hyena-lee dear," my mom says beside me, putting her free hand on my hair, stroking my hair gently.
"Thank you mom," I answers, getting her hand locking it on mine.
I look to the neighborhood once more. It has a lot of different houses but no one is outside this time of the day. Mom stops the car in front of a two story house.
The house looks beautiful on the outside. It has a path made up of stones going to the front door. The style is so classic and modern at the same time. The colors are blue and gray with tinted window panels on each side of the house. I gasp in amazement.
"The house is really beautiful in person mom compared to the pictures you sent to me," I tell her getting my luggage in the back of the car, she only chuckles.
My mom leads the way, I follow her in her back. I can feel the rough texture of the surface of the path taking a look below my feet then to my surroundings.
Mom gets her keys inside her bag to unlock the door. Beside the door is a rectangular wood hanging in the wall with our property name on it.
"Ceptler's Residence," I say it out loud reading our family name on it.
"I put it in there so that everyone will know that someone is living inside," my mom says, finally unlocking the door.
"Come in and check inside dear," I nod excitedly.
My mouth opens in shock and my eyes widen. On my left side you see the living room area, with a huge TV hanging on the wall and a grey colored sofa in the middle of the room.
There are also indoor plants inside the house, different kinds of sculptures, paintings and ancient vases on each side of the house. It makes the house look so old.
In front of me is a wooden staircase. I move forward to touch the staircase. It shimmers when I touch it. I grin on what I see.
It is my second time coming back to my mom's home but I don't remember being like this. Well I'm too young when I first came here.
Beside the staircase is an open wall leading to the kitchen. I decided to check on it, mom is already there preparing for our food. The kitchen is big with wooden cabinets on top of the sink, there is also a glass-stained window in the middle of the wall. I can't figure out the design but I can see a moon and a sun figure in it.
That's kinda unusual.
"The house is beautiful, I can't remember being like this before," I say, saying what is on my mind. She hands me a plate full of pasta and we both take our seat on our dining table.
"I'm glad you like the house sweetie, I really take my time to make the house decent before you arrive," she answers, adjusting her glasses on her eyes.
"So this coming Monday your school will start," she begins taking another bite of her food then she continues. "It's my day off tomorrow so I'll show you around we can go shopping together to buy some stuff you need," she says.
It's my last year in highschool as a senior this year. My only wish this year is that I will not fail myself from keeping my supernatural abilities. Sometimes I can't control my abilities and it's possible that I can get them out of my control which I'm afraid may happen again.
My anxiety and stress are some of the factors in these events. Sometimes I can't control my emotions so my abilities just keep on coming out even though I'm not mentally and physically doing it. Sometimes I just can't control my thoughts.
I come back to reality when my mom begins to shake my hands.
"Sweetie, are you okay, you dozed out for a minute," she says, her voice full of distress.
"I . . . I'm okay mom," I stutter, lowering my fork. I hear a rattling sound on the table. Mom and I both glance at the boiling water in the glass cup in front of me. Her eyes flicker with something I can't understand but she quickly covers it with a frown. I just stay quiet not knowing what else to do.
She moves my head tilting it so that we are face to face with each other.
"Don't stress yourself about the future Victoria. I'm here for you, your father is also here for you, to guide you, don't forget that," she says, her eyes starting to glisten and now I can't help it but cry.
"I'm sorry mom, I just can't help myself," I apologize, before I cover my eyes with my hands.
"You're just unique and you're just like us" she answers, before I begin to relax my body leaning into her side.
I successfully soothe myself by only focusing on this moment, not bothering to think about the future.
