Chapter 3

Arianna walked out of the company gate and turned back again to get a last glance of it before walking down to the bus station.

I got to Emily's and explained everything to her.

"What!? how could he do that? he has practically enslaved you Anna" Emily said while i just sighed.

"I know but I can't do anything now, the contract is sighed already plus I'll be leaving tomorrow" I said while she sighed out loud.

"That tricky piece of ........UGHH let's just get him arrested Anna" she suggested while i shook her head negativily.

"You know I can't do that Emily" i said.

"Why Anna? for the sake of Pete he tried to kidnap your brother and that's an offense" she said.

"No Emily, I can't" i said as i rested my head on the chair rest while Emily took the documents.

It wasn't long before Emily squeaked excitedly like a teenager who just saw their celebrity crush.

"Look Anna" she said and sat beside me.

"It says here that you can terminate the contract but only after the second month, so then you can be free after the second month" she said while Anna furrowed her brow.

"Really?" she asked.

"Yeah didn't you read the contract?" she asked while Anna shook her head negativily.

"Yeah I was going to" she answered while Emily rolled her eyes.

"Do you even know the meaning of the word submissive?" Emily asked while i simply nodded negatively.

"Look anna, this a very huge stuff........"

Anna couldn't listen to any more words Emily was saying as her head was filled up in thoughts remembering those words Mr king had said.

"I'll have my driver's to pick you up by tomorrow" he said and Arianna widened her eyes.

"Tomorrow, I haven't even packed my things" she lamented while Mr king shuggled.

"You don't have to pick up things, all you need to do is read the document well and be ready for the pickup" he said and sat back at his chair behind his desk.

I shook my head bitterly as I walked out of his office.

"Are you even listening Anna?" Emily asked as I shook back to realization.

"Oh.....um....sorry....I guess I zoned out for some moment" I answered.

I jumped on my feet after realizing I haven't seen my brother.

"I have to go now Emily, I have to get to Kevin" I said and hurriedly grabbed my bag.

Emily hissed and walked to the kitchen then brought out some pancakes with her.

"Here take this" she said while I shrugged before collecting it.

"See you soon" I said and dashed out of the house.

I got home to meet my brother sleeping peacefully on the couch and I rushed up to him before pulling him into an hug.

"Why didn't you come?" Kevin asked and I was puzzled by his question.

"What do you mean?" I asked as we disengaged from the hug.

"The nice man said you would join us for dinner yesterday but you didn't come" he answered while I ached my brow.

"What do you mean Kevin? who is the nice man?" i asked while he smiled.

"His name is Mr Jacob" he answered.

"So did he hurt you?" I asked with concern.

"No he didn't, he's a nice man" he said and I sighed in relief.

"Here have some pancakes" I said and stretched out the pancakes to him while he shrugged.

"No thanks, I'm full......I ate a lot of candies lately" he answered while I just nodded as he went back to sleep.

I wonder who Mr Jacob was but I'm grateful for treating my brother well even though the heartless jerk kidnapped my brother.

It was late at night and I layed on the bed quietly after tucking Kevin to bed.

"You don't have to pick up things, all you need to do is read the document well and be ready for the pickup" I remembered Mr King's words and I immediately picked up the documents.

He's an heartless man and so I have to prepare for the worst I thought then got up to seat behind by study desk.

There was so much rules to follow but I was confused when I came across the rule that says "green/yellowed system are need" like what does that means.

I turned on my system then searched for the words where I got to know that In most cases, Green means 'Go ahead' Yellow means 'Go ahead' but with caution' and Red is a simple and clear 'Stop'.

Wow that's a lot I thought and sighed.

I looked at the time and I noticed it was almost day break so I just have a quick sleep after going through the rules.

~~THE NEXT DAY~~

I had finished making breakfast for Kevin when Emily walked in.

"Morning Anna.....um I think your carriage has arrived" she said and pointed towards the door while I gave a confused expression as I walked towards the window.

"Oh s**t" I said as I peeped through the window.

"Oh my gosh .....what should I do.....okay here is a list of what Kevin loves..." I said as I kept crashing into things.

"He has allergies...."

"Good morning ma'am, I'm here to take you to the king's residence" a man said after a knock on my door.

I grabbed my bag as I opened the door.

"I'm ready" I said with a sigh before turning back to Emily and Kevin.

"Kevin goes in check up every Wednesday morning and he have his bath before 7am and..."

"It's okay Emily this isn't my first time with Kevin okay" she interrupted.

"Where are you going Anna?" Kevin asked and I crouched down to his level.

"I won the competition so I was asked to bring my reward, were gonna get rich Kevin" I said with a small laugh before pulling him into an hug.

"I'll miss you Anna" Emily said as I also pulled her into an hug.

"Let's go ma'am, we have to get there before given time" he explained as I disengaged and got into the car.

"Goodbye Anna" Kevin said with a smile as he waved at me.

The fat round man ignited the car and tears rolled down as I watched my brother waved at me.

All my life, I've never been departed from my brother ever since the death of our parents and now I have to leave my only relative.....Well I have to be strong for my brother and prepare for the worst, I thought.

I wiped away my tears as the car zoomed off with my brother out of sight.

I looked out the window with curious looks, I was worried I don't know what I was going to meet.

i kept thinking till we finally pulled up in a big house, more like a mansion precisely.

I climbed out of the car,still admiring how big the house was that I didn't acknowledge some maids in uniforms standing before me till I heard one of them cleared her throat.

"Good day ma'am" one of them said while the rest of them gave a bow.

"This way ma'am" she added and I wondered why they kept addressing me with 'ma'am'.

I followed them into the mansion and I must admit the inside was a lot bigger and finer with large space, there were several pictures hung around the room, this must be the living room I thought.

"Let's head to the living room, Mr king await your arrival" the maid said and I screamed inwardly.

I nodded and walked with them into another bigger room with cozy furnitures.

"Welcome Arianna" Mr king said with a smirk.

"You may go now" he ushered the maids as they all left then he stood up and walked closer to me.

"I see you're very obedient" he said with a smug look on his face.

He stared at me for a while then sniffed my hair while I just stood there helplessly.

He stopped then grabbed his jacket.

"Mrs Emelda will take care of you and don't worry she's very nice" he said and with that he left.

Gosh i can't believe I was holding my breath all this while I thought and sighed out loud.

"Hi, you're Arianna right?" a woman in her late sixty with black eyes and hair packed in a bun.

"Um...yeah" I answered nervously.

She also had this maids uniform on but her was different.

"let me show you to your room" she said and led the way through the hallways.

I entered into the room and I could swore it was twice as my own whole house.

I checked out everywhere, Everything Was a lot bigger than what I've imagined.i pulled out my phone to call Emily just to be sure they were okay but the old lady cleared her throat.

"You're not allowed to use your phone dear" she said and I battled my lashes viciously.

"Excuse me...."

"I was ordered to collect your phone" she said again but I wasn't ready to give my phone not before I haven't heard from my brother.

"Fine but can I just make one call to my brother? I have to know if he's safe" I said with pleading look.

"Just a minute dear" she shrugged and I gave a smile before placing a call.

I ended the call quick but I wasn't happy with the fact that I had to so I just handed the phone to her.

She was about to leave when I called her back.

"Please when is Mr King coming back?" I asked.

"Probably after some weeks.....have a good rest" she smiled and left shutting the door behind her.

This's gonna be hell I said inwardly as I slump down onto the bed.
