The morning light streamed through the thin curtains of my apartment, illuminating the chaotic mess of papers strewn across the coffee table. I leaned against the counter, a steaming cup of coffee in hand, as I watched Lora pace the room, her heels clicking against the hardwood floor. She looked like a storm, all energy and frustration, and I could feel the tension radiating off her. “I can’t believe this!” Lora exclaimed, her voice rising. “I thought I knew him.
