"The Morgans' party?" Isabelle asked, sounding a bit surprised.
"Yeah, that's right. Lilla Morgan's family," Nicholas replied in an icy tone, clearly not a fan of the Morgans. "They only invited my mother and us to their dinner tomorrow night."
He then added, "The Carters and the Morgans used to be pretty close, but things have cooled down between us in recent years."
Nicholas didn't elaborate on why, and Isabelle chose not to probe further.
