After months of being confined, Alexander was finally allowed to leave the Carter Estate and return to the villa he shared with Selena.
It was almost noon, but Selena wasn't home.
"Where's Selena?" he asked the maid.
The maid shook her head, indicating she didn't know, but there was something off in the way she looked at him. Alexander brushed it off and settled in to wait for her.
Just as his patience was wearing thin, he heard the sound of a car pulling up outside. 'She's finally back,' he thought.
He walked to the door, expecting to see Selena looking frazzled from missing him, but instead, Selena stepped out of the car yawning. The slit of her high-cut dress shifted slightly, and Alexander immediately noticed the unmistakable red marks on her thigh.
