EIRA’S POV The full moon. The moment, my eyes fluttered open, I felt it. Heat pulsing underneath my skin like molten lava. Slow, but unbearably heavy. My heart hammered in my chest, and the air felt too thick. I pushed myself up from the bed, swiping my hair off my damp forehead. This was great, just great. The heat hadn’t hit me this hard in a long time. I swung my legs out of bed, and even that simple movement sent sparks tingling across my skin. My thighs pressed together instinctively, as a shaky breath escaped my lips. “Not today,” I whispered. “Please.” But my body had a mind of its own.
