“What in the hell happened out here, Chubs?” I asked.
“Things got really bad out here. Not long after I started my turn on night watch duty, everything went to hell. Last night as I sat by the fire, I started hearing the sounds of someone running around me. At first, I thought it was Mark or Steve messing with me or maybe some of the other kids playing a prank on me, but I learned real quick that wasn’t the case. A few times the fire almost went out, and a couple of logs went flying off the stack.
