Chapter 3- You are powerful, but stupid

“No he will be fine. He's got Oli after all. There is nothing to worry about....... Anyway enough about them. Yale and Terence I am going to be your personal teacher. What do you guys think.”

“Yale you're so lucky!! Initially Aunty only wanted to personally teach me......” Terence paused for a second. He first showed a thoughtful expression, then an excited one. “Aunty since you want to personally teach Yale does that mean he will be able to participate with me in the tournament.”

Lina knit her brows when she heard this. She had only chosen him for two reasons. The first was that he was most probably talented, the second was because she knew George and Oliver would be expecting their master to have at least reached a certain level in power.

And a couple of seconds Lina’s expression finally relaxed and said. “If you are willing to participate then naturally you can once you reach that level...... Listen up you two! Talent means nothing, if you don't work hard your talent will be for naught. In the next three or four years I'm going to squeeze out all your potential. You're going to work at least ten times harder than others.”

After saying this much, Lina stood up and gestured for the two youths to follow her. They left the study they were in and went down a long corridor. After a couple of minutes they reached a door which led them outside.

“Yale, Terence has already been here multiple times so he'll give you a proper tour later. For now we are heading towards that building over there...... That's our martial library.” She pointed towards a very luxurious building that was to the south of them.

It only took them a couple of seconds for them to reach the door, and the excitement on Yale and Terence’s faces couldn’t be hidden as Lina opened the door.

Lina opened the door and as she walked in her voice rang out. “ Clyne please come out for a moment.”

As soon as she finished her sentence, a silhouette flashed past her and stood in front of her. The man who stood before them was middle aged, with brown short hair and a long brown beard which teach his waist. “Yale tell Clyne what your elemental affinity is.”

Yale hesitated for a while, then finally spoke. “My elemental affinities are..... Earth, fire, darkness and thunder.”

Clyne’s face went pale when he heard this. 4 elements! To have two was already rare, to have four was stuff of legends. On the other side Lina was completely frozen from shock. ‘this child is more of a freak than George is. Even George only has....’

“Ben!!! Get your silly arse over here right now!!.” Lina didn't bother trying to contact him through Divine sense. Her a shout had some Qi behind it so it reverberated through out the entire school.

Some minutes passed and finally Ben showed up wearing a confused expression. “Lina..... You sound angry. I didn’t go to the brothel yesterday, nor did I try chase that hot new teacher..... What did I do to piss you off so much.”

Lina stared at him in disbelief. “You imbecile I don’t care about the s**t you do on your free time...... But whilst you were busy thinking about brothels and women you forgot to mention something important. Do you still remember what that thing is!!?”

Ben was confused. “Come on Lina! Why do you have to play such games with me? Just tell me what I did wrong......”

Lina could only sigh and let go of her anger. “Yale has can control 4 elements. Do you remember that part?....”

Bens face immediately lit up. “Oooh! s**t!! Sorry about that..... I had completely forgotten about it. I was kind of overwhelmed by the conversation you were having with Oli and that George character.”

“Sigh..... You useless fool!” after saying these words, Lina took out a transmitter and began conversing with Oliver.

In short distances experts would communicate using divine sense. But if the distance became too large for their divine sense to reach then they would use soul transmission to communicate.

“Oli, I have something important to ask you!!” On the other side Oliver and George were flying at high speed and Oli was the first to stop when he heard Lina’s voice.

“ah!!! My dearest wife! Brothel what brothel.... I'm with George he doesn’t even like that stu-...”

Even though Lina knew that he was joking around she was still slightly annoyed. “ SHUT UP!!!! What's with you men and brothel talk!! This is something that has to do with that master of yours.”

“Oh.” Oliver was startled. “What happened.?”

“Oli, who is this kid. To say he is a monster is an understatement. When I got that job to assassinate you all I didn’t realize the person you were all protecting was this precious.” Lina wanted to know who Yale really was. But she didn’t know how to get the information so she decided to ask Oliver directly.

Listening to his wife Oliver sighed and spoke. “Sigh..... To be honest with you, we are not even sure ourselves. We all served that old man, so when he came to us and told us that the child he was holding was now our master we didn't dare ask anymore.

After we reached this material realm he told us all to do as we pleased. Only George stayed close to him. Even George doesn’t know Yale’s background.”

After saying so much Oliver went quiet. He knew his wife had uncovered something about Yale and he was patiently waiting to hear it. After a while Lina spoke. “Oli, this child can control 4 elements......”

Oliver was stunned into silence. 4!!! He himself was considered a genius for having two. But at the moment he felt as though his genius title was a joke. He stared at George venomously, ‘first this asshole, now this brat.... Why is the world so unfair...’

George noticed Oliver's behaviour and couldn't help but ask. “What's wrong with you? You're looking at me as if I force fed you dog shit.”

Oliver couldn't help but shout. “OH f**k YOU OH GREAT IMMORTAL GENIUS....... Sigh.... By the way, Yale has affinity with 4 elements.”

Clyne was staring at Yale as if he was stating at a monster. 4!! That is just inconceivable. His talent must be seriously high as well.....

After this thought he composed himself and spoke towards Lina. “Lina, we don’t have any darkness type techniques. I don’t know what are going to about this. There is no one in this realm who trains in darkness type techniques.”

Hearing this Lina frowned. “Actually there is......” after saying this Lina began messaging Oliver again. “Oli, doesn’t George use darkness type techniques. We don't have any here. Do you think he would be willing to teach some to Yale when you come back?”

Oliver looked towards George and spoke. “Hey, Mr Darkness. My wife's school doesn’t have any Darkness type techniques. That's one of Yale’s elemental affinities.”

George frowned. “ me teach him? Isn't that the same as revealing how powerful I really am. I can't do that. I doubt he will have reached the saint level then, so I ca-....” George had stopped midsentence when he noticed that Oliver was laughing his ass off.

“Hahahahha..... You're powerful George, I admit that. You really are, but you're seriously stupid. You don't have to teach him directly, you could transfer them to him mentally. Either that or change your appearance and teach him personally.”

George's face turned red. “Oh, uhhh!!..... I guess I don't really think it through. My bad.”

Oliver could only shake his head. “Hey Lina, we will be back in about 3 years, so we'll probably see you in the capital then. This dumb prick already agreed to teach him his techniques.”

“Ok I'll see you there.” (Lina)

As soon as Lina stopped communicating with Oliver she turned towards Clyne. “ Clyne do not worry once they reach the first grade of a Student just give them the ones you have.

Now Yale listen up. Currently there are 4 known levels of power in this realms, as for the ones above that I'll tell you when you reach saint level. Each level has 9 grades in it, these levels are Student, Master, Duke and then Saint. The competition I'm having you enter is very tough. Most people who participate are hundreds even thousands of years old. So they beat you now in terms of experience and power.”

Yale was puzzled. Hundreds of years old. How does she possibly expect us to fight against those people.

“I....” Yale was about to talk but was immediately stopped by Lina. “Listen, I know its hard to hear this, but it's very possible for you guys to fight with those people...... Now listen carefully this the most important part.

With me I have a spacial treasure. In this treasure time moves ten times slower than the normal world. So ten years in this treasure is equivalent to a year here. We have close to 3 years till the tournament which means you guys have 35 or so years to train.”

At this point Yale and Terence had stopped breathing. Even though Terence had been told by his aunt that he could participate in the tournament, he was still sceptical about how he could accomplish this. He trusted his aunt that is why he had said those words to Yale with utter confidence, but at times on his heart he couldn't help but wonder how he would be able to do it. And now the answer was right in front of him, and that answer made his mind go blank.

Lina laughed when he saw the expressions of the two youngsters. “Haha.... Do not be surprised. There are spacial treasures which are more powerful than this little toy I have. Terence in your grandfathers spacial treasure time moves 100 times slower than the normal world. If only I had the time to go get it from that old man....

Now lemme explain cultivation. You will be able to cultivate in two ways, the first is to absorb the qi between heaven and earth. The second is to acquire beast cores and refine the qi inside. The latter is faster than the former, but the latter has high risks cause some of the qi is poisonous and you will need to be powerful enough to expel that poison. So until you reach the Duke level do not under any circumstances refine a beast core. Do you understand.”

Yale and Terence nodded so Lina continued. “I'm the master of this treasure so I can control whatever happens inside it. I have already placed some beats on there ranging from master equivalent level beats to saint equivalent level beast. As for how beasts are properly ranked, I'll tell you this information later on.

My treasure is also capable of absorbing qi from the outside world so you'll be able to properly cultivate. For the first 6 months you'll be training with me, Ben and a couple of other people that you will be sparring with. Afterwards we will leave and then you guys will have to fight the beats within the treasure. You will enter the spacial treasure tomorrow, so if you have any friends go say goodbye to them now.”

After saying this Lina nodded towards Clyne then walked out of the hall. Clyne then turned to the two and said. “Well then let's get down to business shall we. Usually you are supposed to just choose cultivation manuals but with your situation you will have to pick your skills as well...... Terence your affinities are wind and fire right?” Terence nodded. “Then you can start off from the shelves on the right. Pick wisely, remember the manual you choose will affect the quality and recovery of your qi. As for martial techniques pick as many as possible. I can't possibly tell what you are gonna be like when you start cultivating. So when you reach that level your aunt will help you choose between the ones you've chosen today.”

Terence nodded and left towards the side he had been instructed to go. Clyne then stared at Yale for a good couple of seconds and then began muttering to himself. “I still can't believe this. 4 bloody elements......”

“Sigh, Yale start from the right. That's where the thunder skills are. Keep coming till the middle that’s where the cultivation manuals are. To be honest there are only 3 of them and none is worse than other. Call me when you are done”

Yale nodded and left. At first he had planned to sit down and properly pick techniques he liked, but then he remembered Clyne’s words and then just began to randomly pick jade slips. From thunder techniques to earth techniques he didn't even bother to check the information he just grabbed as many jade slips as he could.

When he reached the middle shelf he noticed that Terence was there already. “Hey Terence, have you already picked a manual?” Terence nodded. “Yup, apart from how you circulate the qi there is not much of a difference between the three. I just picked the one with the coolest name.....”
