Chapter 5- I guess so

Yale and Terence had returned to academy after their meal. Both were still baffled about the recent event. Even now they were trying figure out why Dean helped them at that time.

“He hates my aunt so it can't be that. He definitely wouldn’t like my dad and I doubt he knows Uncle Oliver..... Which only means that he helped us because of you.” Terence stared at Yale weirdly. It just didn't make sense, why would that man help them.

Yale sighed. “ the only person I have in mind is George, but he ran a bakery...... Unless it was all just a façade and his some super powerful person in this world. That is highly unlikely, I personally think it's because of Oliver.”

Both of them began to laugh out loud. The thought of the weak and fragile George being powerful was just too funny to them. “Hahahahahah Yale you're truly funny. George was scared shitless when I showed up that time. Super powerful person my ass..... Why are we even wasting our time thinking about this. Let's just go ask my aunt. If it was anyone else who helped us I wouldn't think so much into it, but Mr. Dean doesn’t even give a damn about the governor.”

Yale didn’t know Dean at all. So the Dean in his mind was the one who helped them today, not the cold and bitter guy that Terence was describing.

After they reached the academy they immediately went to Lina’s study. Terence didn't even bother with salutations. “Mr. Dean helped us today, the gruesome threesome wanted to humiliate us today but Mr. Dean kicked them out. Can you think of a reason why l, as far as I know he hates us and doesn’t really help people.”

After hearing this Lina slightly frowned. “Oh that old bastard helped you. It's nothing really surprising. There are certai-..”

Terence immediately cut her off before she could even finish. “ let me guess we are too weak and there are certain things you can't tell us about ... We should wait until we are blah blah blah.”

Lina could only sigh and smile at the two boys. “It's getting late. The two of you should go and rest, tomorrow your training starts.”

“Olay, C'mon Yale let's go see of there are any girls in this school that can be as beautiful as aunties friend.” Terence grabbed Yale’s hand and ran out of the study.

Hearing what Terence had said Lina could only smile wryly. “If only you knew that, Delilah was several thousand years older than what she said......”

An hour later, Yale and Terence were “scouting” girls in the Academy. At the moment a group of girls passed by them and as soon as they were a fair distance away Terence spoke.

“That one in the middle isn't that bad. She can barely pass as my concubine.” Hearing this Yale frowned. Terence noticed this and asked. “What's wrong......”

“Isn't she kind of skinny. I think I like the one on the left.” Terence frowned. “You like thick girls. I guess that's ok..... But the one in the middle is my type.....” Terence paused. “Sort off.....”

Both of them began to laugh. “Hahaha Yale if you're interested we can go talk to that girl if you want.”

Yale shook his head. “Tomorrow we start training and we'll be gone for over 3 years. Is there any point in me going to talk to her. I just fear that we'll come of training and we won't be able to talk to people.”

Terence was shocked. “What makes you say that. It's not like we are bad at talking to people......” Yale shook his head helplessly and said. “Think about it, to the outside world we are spending 3 years in that Spatial treasure. To us its gonna be close to 40 years. In those 30 plus years it's going to be just me and you......”

Terence became terrified. “But...... But..... I still need to hit on Delilah. If I became socially illiterate how will I......”

Yale began to laugh. “You i***t this is just a thought of mine. We might actually not change. I've always been a loner so I don’t mind if I become a lot more desolate. Plus I think we'll still be able to talk to our current loved ones even if we change.”

Terence breathed a sigh of relief. “ Asshole don’t care me like that. But I also wouldn't mind, some people are really worthless so there is no need to befriend useless garbage. I think it's around our age where we meet a lot of temporary people. I'd rather skip this stage.”

Yale nodded.

On the other side of the academy Lina was in her study communicating with Oliver. “I'm sending the boys in tomorrow. Do you think there is something else I should help them with or something I should add to make their road harder.”

Oliver began to laugh. “Hahaha..... I think it's ok. You don’t have to dote on them too much. Just....” after reaching this point Oliver suddenly went quiet.

Lina got worried. “Oliver!!! Why did you go quiet. Oli.....” Oliver then replied. “Oh! Sorry give me a sec George is telling me something he wants me to tell you.”

Lina was startled. “Oh okay”

After what seemed like an eternity Oliver finally spoke. “So George has some additions he wants you to put........ Are you willing to listen to them?” Lina replied. “Yes.”

“He said that you should add one beast that’s more powerful than a saint level beast. If you can't then.......” Oliver paused, he himself not believing what he was about to ask his wife to do. “ Put in saint level cultivators who will attack the boys from time to time.”

Lina began to breathe heavily. “is he nuts!!! They are just children. I.....” Oliver immediately cut her off. “To be honest I was shocked by this as well. I couldn’t eve believe I was about to ask you to do that..... But.... After thinking about it for a second I think it's a good idea. Beasts under saint level use instinct and aren't that intelligent. They'll need to know how crafty humans are.”

Lina could only laugh bitterly. “They are gonna hate me when they come out.....” Oliver laughed. “Not really, after a few years they'll realize that the cultivators aren't trying to kill them. Naturally they’ll realize that they're being groomed. If they are narrow minded then well..... We're fucked.”

Yale and Terence were both sitting outside of Lina’s study. Yale was nervous beyond measure. He was about to start training. Lina and her subordinates will be with them for only half a year or so, but afterwards it would just be him and Terence.

“Hey man, stop worrying. We'll be fine!! It's just training, we just need to work hard.” Terence had noticed Yale’s stiff expression so he attempted to take some of the pressure off.

“I.....” Yale was about to speak but was cut off by Lina voice which came from the study. “ You two can come in now......”

Both Yale and Terence took in a large breath of air to calm themselves down. After doing so they opened the door. When they walked in, they realized that apart from Lina and Ben, there were 7 other people in the room.

“Yale which weapon would you like to use.” Lina didn't bother wait for the two youths to greet her before she asked her question.

Without hesitation Yale answered. “I want to use a spear.”

After he said this a very gloomy chuckle escaped from one of the people's mouths. When Yale and Terence looked at this man they couldn’t help but involuntary tremble. The man before them was covered in scars, be it on his face, neck or arms. He looked incredibly savage and the gloomy aura that surrounded him made him even more domineering.

“Yale this is Angelo. He is an expert at using spears, lances and halberds. He will personally teach you spear play. Sadly he is only a thunder element cultivator so the techniques he will be teaching you are going to be thunder based. As for your other 3 elements, you'll have to figure out how to deal with that when you’ve reached his level.”

After introducing Angelo Lina went on to introduce the other 6. “ This is Cameron. He is at the Duke Stage and is one of the people that will be responsible for sparring with you alongside Devin, Colin and Bruce.” All 4 of these individuals were middle aged and wore military attire.

Lina paused on the last two people in the room. The first was young woman who looked no older than 30 and the second person was an old man with a long grey beard. “This is Jen, she is just here to watch. She's an old friend of mine. As for this old bastard. This is Henry, he is a swordsman and is going to be teaching Terence sword play.”

Yale and Terence greeted the 7 people and then looked at Lina with anticipation. Lina smiled and spoke. “don't resist now I'm about to send you into the spatial treasure.”

And with a thought 9 of the 11 people present disappeared, leaving only Lina and Jen in the room.

The two women were silent for sometime. After what felt like an eternity Jen spoke. “Have you found anything yet?”

Nina shook her head and said. “ my organisation has a lot of connections, even in your realm i have a couple. But i still can't find what you are looking for...... I'm sorry.”

Jen could only sigh. “It's okay. Let's hurry up and enter your spatial treasure I'm sure they are waiting for us.”

Lina nodded and with a thought both women disappeared. Lina could change the appearance of the treasure at will so when she entered it she made it transform into a sheet of paper that landed on her desk.

In the spatial treasure. Both had weird expressions on their faces. The feeling they had when they were being transferred into the treasure was not pleasant.

Seeing the expression of the two youths, Ben and the rest laughed. “when you start cultivating it won't feel that way. Your bodies at the moment are too weak so it would be unpleasant.”

Yale and Terence nodded and at this time Jen and Lina showed up. Lina looked at Terence and Yale whilst smiling, and then said. “You two must've felt really unpleasant just now..... But at least you are better than Ben. When he was in here for the first time he puked non-stop.”

“Hey!!!!!.....” (Ben)

Lina ignored Ben's protests and spoke to the two. “sit down in a lotus position and try sense the energy between heaven and earth.”

The two did as they were told and sat down. “Now it might take time, some take seconds to sense it some take minutes some take years..... But once you feel that energy rotate it in your meridians according to the manual you chose.”

Hearing that it might be years before they can even sense the energy, Yale and Terence were a bit hesitant. After a couple of breaths the two calmed down and proceeded to meditate.

To everyone's surprise it only took Yale about 5 seconds to sense the energy, hence all the impurities in his body got expelled through his pores. In an instant Yale was covered in black sticky liquid.

Lina was the first to regain her composure. “ Yale, there is a pond not far from here in that direction. Go wash up and come back immediately.”

Yale nodded, stood up and left. And just a couple of breaths after he left Terence also got his impurities expelled and was given the same instruction by Lina. It had taken Yale 5 seconds for him to sense the energy and it had taken Terence about a minute.

When Terence reached the pond he noticed that Yale was already done and that half the water was now black. “Hey! You little punk! You're really more talented than i am. This is awesome!!! I told you you'd be talented.... Haha.”

Yale had a wry smile on his face. At the moment he didn't really know what to say to Terence. He waited until Terence was done washing, and then they both left the pond area together.

“So does this mean that we are now at the first sub-level of the Student stage?” Yale asked, and Terence replied. “Yes!!!..... I guess so... I think we are..... We can just ask my aunt.”
