“So does this mean that we are now at the first sub-level of the Student stage?” Yale asked, and Terence replied. “Yes!!!..... I guess so... I think we are..... We can just ask my aunt.”
The pair reached the group of adults who all wore excited expressions. “Now that you’ve reached the first Stage you training regime will be different. I don’t want you to train any Martial skills yet but for the next couple of years. You have about 35 years to train here so for the next 5 years you'll be training your body only.”
“What!!!....”
The two teenagers were shocked. Terence was even more shocked than Yale was. He had thought that he would immediately learn a skill and then spar with someone to get used to it. But alas he was a little too overambitious.
Lina smiled and spoke. “Angelo will be in charge of Yale’s training and Henry will handle Terence. Even though physical training will allow your body to gain power, it's affect on your cultivation is not that high so do not forget to meditate and absorb World energy whenever you have free time. Now go change your clothes and come back.”
After she said this Lina pointed at a very small house and said. “That's where you two will be staying. Now hurry up and go.”
An hour after this Yale was sweating his ass off. When he and Terence had changed clothes they went to their respective teachers. When Yale arrived in front of Angelo, the latter didn't bother saying anything and he threw a couple of weights towards Yale.
Yale had underestimated the weights and had attempted to pick them up, but to his surprise he actually had to use a lot of effort to pick up the smallest one there.
Seeing this Angelo smiled and spoke. “You're gonna start with the small weights. Place them on your wrists and ankles and get accustomed to them. In about 8 hours you should be able to jog with them.”
Yale’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets. He couldn’t help but curse Angelo in his heart. Is this really considered training!!? What the hell!! This is torture...
Angelo's smile only widened when he saw Yale’s expression. “Once you're able to sprint with these small weights, we will move to the heavier ones. Then after you can sprint with those we'll move on to the last ones. In total there are 3 sets of weights. You need to be able to sprint with the last set within 2 months. Then after that I'll teach you some spear moves, but you'll learn to use that spear whilst wearing those weights.”
Yale stared at the weights on the ground. Why am I even doing this s**t again!?..... Why did I ever want to be a cultivator?....
To be honest he also had no reason why he wanted to do this. Did he desire to reach the peak of power? No, not really!! Did have someone he wanted to protect. Again, no!.
Yale shook his head and decided not to think about it anymore. He hesitantly put the weights on his ankles and wrists, and then tried to stand up. He tried, but failed and sat down. After a couple of breaths he tried again and failed. And again, and again, and again.
After half an hour he was now finally able to stand without losing his balance. After another hour he was able to take small steps. After another 2 hours he could now walk freely, and to Angelo's surprise after only another 3 hours Yale was able to jog with the weights.
“This child isn't human......”
In a week Yale could now fully sprint with the smaller sized weights. “Ok now put the medium sized weights on.”
Yale nodded and was about to pick up the weights when he noticed that that jade* he had had slightly changed colour. The jade now was slightly more pale than it was before. Before he had made a trip to the academy he had found a string which he tied around the jade stone, and then he put it around his neck.
That's weird what's going on here!!.....
Angelo looked at where Yale was staring and was shocked at what he saw. “Hey now!! That's a memory stone...... Where did you get that?”
Yale was shocked. “Memory stone?....”
Angelo nodded. “That's definitely a memory stone. A person can store a strand of their Devine sense inside to leave a message for someone or a technique. These things are divided into 4 tiers of quality. Low, Medium, High and Top. That's a Top quality memory stone. Whoever owned it is a very powerful cultivator.”
Yale looked at Angelo weirdly. Really?..... He thought about the person who gave him the jade and couldn’t help but smile wryly before saying. “ My grandpa gave me this. And he was no cultivator.”
Angelo's brows knit together and said solemnly. “I highly doubt he was a mortal if he gave this to you. You'll at least need to reach saint level to know the contents inside. This is interesting.....”
Yale just shook his head and picked up the medium sized weights which covered half his forearm, the other ones covered his legs till they reached right below his knees. “these are at least 10 times heavier than the small ones. How long do you think it will take me to sprint in these.”
Angelo pondered for a minute and then spoke. “3 weeks. Maybe a month.”
“Ok!!” Yale let out a breath and tried to stand up. After trying once he almost had the urge to give up. F*ck what is this sh*t!!! By the time he had tried 20 times he was already sweating bullets.
This time it took him 1 hour to be able to stand without losing balance. Then 2 and a half hours for him to walk slowly. 6 hours for him to walk freely. And a day for him to even begin jogging. But to Angelo's surprise it only took a week and a half for Yale to sprint. Knowing the time it took Yale couldn't help but curse at himself. “F*ck I'm so slow!!! One and a half weeks such bullsh*t speed!!”
Angelo wanted to beat Yale up so badly. Slow, you call this speed slow!!!.... You f*cking freak of a cultivator. Even though the first set was easy for Angelo when he did it for the first time, the second set however took him a full month for him to even jog and in his realm he was considered a genius.
“Hey brat!! Stop showing off and come put this last set on. “ Yale immediately ran over and took off the weights he was wearing and sat down in front of the last set. There was no difference in size between the last two sets which, caused Yale to be rather complacent. Until he picked that sh*t up.
I should really stop underestimating these things. This is just unbelievable!!
Angelo laughed and spoke. “Haha..... B*tch..... Now look at you. All that smugness is gone now isn't it. How do they feel huh!?”
*The last time i brought up the jade was in chapter 1
...
This time it took him a whole week for him to be able to stand with the weights, and a further two weeks for him to be able to walk, and a full mnth for him to be able to sprint with them. Angelo was not too shocked by this. He had already witnessed on two occasions just how great of talent Yale was, so at the end he could only sigh.
“ Hey you smelly brat!! Stop showing off with your stupid sprints, its time I taught you something.” Said Angelo with a solemn expression.
Yale hearing this immediately ran to Angelo and said. “ we have been here for over two months now. Terence has already began sparring with those 3. When will I start? I’m already at the fourth level of the Student stag, that’s one level higher than Terence.”
Angelo shook his head and said. “ you won’t need to spar with them. Instead you will be sparring with me. Its only fair this way….”
Fair my ass. Yale was shocked. He chose not to say anything and was staring at Angelo in anticipation. He was eager to know what type of spear skill Angelo was going to teach him. Seeing Yale’s expression Angelo smiled lightly as he took out a ring and threw it towards Yale.
“Drop your blood on this ring. It’s an interspatial ring I got for you.”
Yale stared at the ring he had just caught with a shocked expression. Such things exist?.... after this thought he bit down on his thumb and dropped some of his blood on the ring. Immediately after, he felt as if he was connected to the ring in some way. “this is….”
Angelo laughed, “ ahahaha, now here pour your World energy into it. Uou will be able to see what’s inside.”
Yale did as he was told and to his astonishment he noticed that there was a spear in the ring. The shaft alone was over 4 meters in length, whilst the spearhead was at least over a meter long. “ This thing is huge!!” exclaimed Yale. Angelo smiled and began to walk away. “ with a thought you can retrieve the spear from the ring. For the time being I want you learn how to thrust and block. I have shown you the basic stances for blocking and thrusting so you can go ahead and start training. After a week you should be able to move it freely in any direction.”
Yale was shocked. “ that’s it!!!!!???”
Angelo laughed yet again and said. “ Well the f**k were you expecting! All I can teach you are the basics as for spear skills, I will pass them to you when I feel that your foundations are solid enough.”
Yale could only comply. He put the ring on his index finger on his right hand, and with a thought a spear popped up in front of him. The shaft was plain silver so it looked rather plain. Yale smiled and used his right hand to reach for it. to his surprise when he held on to the spear he felt as if the spear was at least two times heavier than the middle sized weights. Even though it could be compared to the current weights he was wearing, it was still heavy.
With some effort he thrust the spear forward. “ Huff……” after doing it once Yale let out a huge breath. This was definitely harder than he thought. Afterwards he changed his stance into one of blocking and stayed like that for five minutes, then afterwards he thrust it out again. he repeated this cycle over and over for week, after this one week he was able to thrust it four times without tiring, and was able to hold the blocking stance for at least 15 minutes.
To be honest by now Yale was supposed to be able to thrust it a million times over. He had a lot of world energy and his body’s foundation was very stable. But everyday Angelo would bring along weights that were heavier than the last he had given him. Each and everyday he got heavier weights but as time went on he barely noticed the difference.
He didn’t bother checking on how heavy the next weights were, he just grabbed them every morning and replaced the ones he had slept in. this went on for two months, and these two months Yale reached the seventh level of the Student Stage, whilst Terence was at the sixth level.
Terence came to spar with Yale, using the excuse that he wanted to see how he would really cope with someone at the same level as he is. He thought that since he had learnt some sword and martial skills he would be able to suppress Yale. But every time he attacked Yale would use his spear to block every single one of the attacks, and when he attacked he used nothing but raw strength to suppress Terence.
He didn’t know any skills that required him to use his world energy so all he could do was use his body’s strength. This left Angelo and co flabbergasted. What kind of monster was this. Initially Angelo was against the sparring between the two because even though Yale had the higher cultivation, he was still lacking in skills.
He was planning on passing on some skills to Yale in a week, but after watching Yale completely suppress Terence he completely lost himself in excitement and he grabbed Yale. “ you are a f*****g monster!!! Don’t resist I’m going to transmit some skills to you now.”
Angelo placed his finger on Yale’s temple and immediately lots of information was transmitted into Yale’s brain. Cultivators had pretty good memories so it was easy for him to receive and remember these skills.
After he was done Angelo looked at Yale who was slightly dizzy, smiled and spoke. “ We have two months left until we leave. You have a month to learn any spear or martial skills that you want. After that I wont care whether you are ready or not, I will come and spar with you.”
Yale stood there in silence whilst reading through the skills he had just received. To his surprise he had received over a dozen spear skills. After a while he noticed that the remaining people were looking at him weirdly. Everyone had come to watch the show and had expected Terence to trample over Yale, but they didn’t expect Terence to lose so miserable.
“ You’re not from this realm! There is no way you are from this realm.” Jen said . She knew that no person from a material realm would have this much talent.
