As daylight gradually surrendered to moonlight, determination pushed him forward. The Volvo effortlessly blended into the busy flow of traffic on the motorway connecting Perth to Edinburgh, its engine emitting a soothing hum as it sped up to match the new speed limit. Drowsiness stealthily enveloped them, casting a hushed spell over their surroundings.
