Martha and Jo had all but forgotten about the book, or they chose to. Even with the book still sitting on the table where they had left it, they deliberately ignored it.
Nothing happened after the last horror show, which had shaken the girls the first day when Jo had tried to get rid of the book. Now, they just ignored it, making no effort even to get rid of it just in case they experienced a repeat of what had happened.
“Are you going clubbin' tonight?” Jo asked as she strode into the room with a towel wrapped around her head. “That guy, Kenny said he'll come pick me up in an hour.”
“I'll pass,” Martha waved her away. She lay on the bed reading one of her favourite Stephen King thriller. “I'm totally hooked to King tonight. Just can't drop this book for a second.”
