It was a delighted and thankful Donald Chase that welcomed the girls to his permanent suite at the Swiissôtel Beijing. Hopkins and Wu stood by as he hugged them tightly, crying in the process.
“How can I thank you?” he asked Hopkins afterwards as they shared a bottle of one of the finest champagnes the hotel could provide.
“My fee will suffice.”
“No it will not,” Chase replied shaking his head. “I want you to come work for me. Leave the police department and become my chief security officer.”
“Let me sleep on it,” Hopkins replied. “For the time being, let's enjoy the drink and forget about business.”
