Chapter 4: Death Wish

(Mirabella POV)

“Y-yes! I am… I am fine,” My voice was shivering, and he gave me a curt nod before turning his attention to those alphas.

“How dare you set foot in my room? Don’t you know that she is under my protection? I think you forgot who the f*ck I am, hmm?” He said and punched the first man who was just lusting over my body. He crashed hard on the floor. But the anger was radiating off Professor Carson’s body in waves, which meant he was beyond angry. Another one tried to stop him from fighting him, but Professor Carson’s powerful punch landed on his nose, and a sickening crunch echoed in the air.

I winced when blood started oozing out of his nose like a waterfall. I quickly covered my eyes, and within a few minutes, He beat them to a pulp.

“Let’s go! You are not safe in this room anymore,” I looked towards his face and then his stretched hand. I hesitated for a moment before putting my hand in his big protective hand. I know I shouldn’t believe anyone in this situation, but I wasn’t feeling scared when it came to him… I don’t know what was wrong with me, but my emotions and hormones were running the show for me here.

He started walking forward, and I followed him silently, like an obedient puppy. I didn’t notice when he stopped, so I crashed into his back, but quickly stepped back. His lip curled upward in a subtle manner, and my cheeks turned red.

“Here… you will stay in this room for now,” He pointed towards the door, and I nodded. He opened the door, and I quickly stepped inside.

It matched his taste, but there was something in this room that was different from the previous one. It has a splash of color in it, which was missing in the previous room. I didn’t know him any better, but this room seemed a bit different than his aura and personality.

“Do you like it?” He asked when I was inspecting the whole room intently.

“Y-yes,” I answered, and he pointed towards the small bag in the corner.

“I have prepared some extra clothes and a few necessary things for your use. I have to attend a meeting here, so I have to leave, but don’t worry… I will leave efficient guards outside your door for your safety. No one will dare to lay a single finger on you from now on.” He assured me, and I nodded, but my heart wasn’t feeling at ease.

“I have to go now,” He said, and was about to open the door when I grabbed his arm.

“Will you… Will you sell me to them, Professor Carson?” I asked, and a ball of tears got stuck in my throat. He turned towards me, and his eyes softened a bit.

“No! You are safe here. It isn’t a safe place to discuss things like these here… so we will talk about it after getting out of it. So, rest and heal. You need a lot of energy even with all these suppressants,” He said when his phone started buzzing in his pocket.

With a curt nod, He turned on his heels and left the room. I reluctantly climbed on the bed and started checking the shopping bag, which had a few simple jeans, tops, and undergarments for me, along with toiletries. I didn’t want to change my clothes yet, so I pushed it away and snuggled into the soft comforter present on the bed.

“Please, Moon Goddess! Please show me a way out of here,” I prayed silently in my heart, and then slowly started dozing off when the door of my room opened. I got up with a jerk and looked at Tyla, who was present in the room with worried expressions etched on her face.

“What are you doing here, Tyla?” I asked, and she slowly closed the door before looking at my face.

“Oh, girl! You are in big trouble.” She answered, and I furrowed my brows in confusion.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked, and she fished out a phone from her short skirt’s pocket and played a video in front of me in which Professor Carson was bidding for the omegas in the auction.

“So, what are your plans for that little meek omega, Carson?” A bald man with yellow teeth and a big belly asked. He was giving creepy and dark vibes.

“Nothing much! I just want to keep her. She caught my interest,” He answered with a meaningful smile which wasn’t looking like him at all, but I couldn’t deny the truth right in front of my own eyes.

“Good, good, but please deal with her with easy hands, because not everyone is built for your intense games,” Another one added.

“Of course! The four omegas you bought last year… your games almost took their lives. Right?” Another one said, and all of them burst into laughter.

“What can I say, Jonathan? They were too easy to break,” He answered, and all nodded in response. The video clip ended, and I felt like my heart would stop beating at any second.

“I-i can’t believe he will be like this… W-what should I do?” I asked her, and she was looking at me with pitiful expressions.

“Tonight they will celebrate Christmas and will be distracted. You can find an opportunity to run away from this hellhole, and if you fail, then jump into the cold, merciless river, but please… for the love of the Moon Goddess… don’t let them take advantage of your innocence.” Tears rolled down my cheeks like rivers, and I nodded.

“Thank you so much for showing me this clip and helping me. I will never forget this favour of yours,” I said, and she hugged me and then slowly opened the window of the backside wall and jumped out. I know she took a lot of risks to show me the truth, and I will not let her hard work go into vain,” I promised myself and got up from my seat.

“No, Mirabella! It’s not the time to cry. I know, I came here to save my brother, but I will not let any monster take advantage of my innocence at any cost,” I said, and started thinking about a solid plan to get out of this hellhole tonight. I have a few hours to think about it; otherwise, I will not hesitate and embrace death… Yes! This is the only option left for me.
