SERAPHINA'S POV
"Sera, what happened?"
Mother looked genuinely worried as she welcomed me back to the Vermont estate that afternoon. It wasn't surprising. I had shown up with two large suitcases in my hands.
"Were you kicked out?"
Elanor appeared the moment she heard the commotion. She immediately grabbed one of my suitcases and pushed it inside.
"I'm fine. I just needed a change of scenery." I smiled.
Unfortunately, my answer did little to reassure Mother. She didn't say much, but the confusion on her face remained. My sudden return clearly wasn't something she'd expected.
Elanor, on the other hand, sprang into action. She called for the servants to take my luggage upstairs and started giving instructions to prepare my room.
"So, you finally got divorced?"
