"Leaving already?"
Amelia's voice rang through the hallway, carrying just enough volume to stop me in my tracks as I stepped out of Father's office. She was standing near the elevators and hurried toward me.
"Have you heard the latest?"
"Of course I have. Everyone has."
She was slightly out of breath by the time she reached me. "Seraphina isn't the only one making headlines these days."
Had I missed something? I'd been monitoring the news constantly, yet apparently there was still plenty slipping past me.
"What do you mean?"
She pulled out her favorite pink tablet. For a moment, she scrolled through the screen before handing it to me. Across the front page of The Economics, the headline read:
THE WOMAN WHO BUILT ASHBOURNE IS BUILDING VERMONT AGAIN
