Eva's heart pounded in her chest as she raced through the dense forest. Her breath came in ragged gasps, and her legs burned with exertion. Branches whipped against her skin, leaving faint red marks in their wake. Fear fueled her every step as she tried to put as much distance as possible between herself and her wicked uncle's clutches.
For years, Eva had endured a life of misery and torment under her uncle's roof. He had taken her in after her parents' tragic death, promising to care for her. But his true nature soon revealed itself—a cruel and abusive man who saw her only as a means to exploit her inheritance.
As she sprinted through the undergrowth, Eva's mind raced with thoughts of what her life could be like if she could escape his reach. The wind whispered through the trees, urging her forward, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. She had heard tales of the Blue Moon Pack, a tight-knit community of werewolves who lived in harmony with the forest. Perhaps they would offer her sanctuary, a place where she could finally be free.
Suddenly, a voice broke through her reverie, stopping her dead in her tracks.
"Are you lost, young one?"
Startled, Eva spun around to find a woman standing before her. She wore a kind smile, her eyes filled with warmth and concern. Her appearance seemed harmless enough, but Eva had learned to be wary of strangers, especially those who seemed too good to be true.
"I... I'm just taking a walk," Eva stammered, her voice trembling. "I'm not lost."
The woman's smile widened. "Of course, dear. But the forest can be a treacherous place for a young girl like you. Allow me to help you find your way back."
Eva's heart raced with suspicion, but desperation urged her to take a chance. "Fine," she relented, her voice barely above a whisper. "But no tricks. I've had enough of that."
The woman nodded, her smile unwavering. "No tricks, I promise. My name is Helen. What's yours?"
"Eva," she replied, her voice barely audible. "Eva- that my name,"
Helen extended her hand, and after a moment's hesitation, Eva reluctantly took it. The woman's grip was firm, her touch reassuring. They began to walk, their steps falling in sync as Eva cautiously allowed herself to trust this woman.
As they walked deeper into the forest, Eva couldn't help but notice the tranquility that surrounded her. The air felt fresher, the scent of pine and damp earth soothing her troubled soul. Birds chirped merrily, their songs harmonizing with the rustling leaves. It was as if the forest itself was welcoming her with open arms.
"How did you find me?" Eva finally asked, breaking the silence that had settled between them.
Helen's smile never wavered. "I've been watching you for some time, Eva. Your spirit, your determination—it intrigued me. And when I saw the opportunity, I knew I had to intervene."
Eva's eyes widened. "You've been watching me? Why?"
Helen's gaze softened. "Because I know what you've been through, Eva. Your uncle's cruelty, the torment you've endured—it's not right. No one should have to suffer like that."
A lump formed in Eva's throat, and tears welled up in her eyes. For the first time in a long while, she felt understood. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I thought I was all alone."
Helen squeezed Eva's hand gently, offering her a reassuring presence. "You're not alone anymore, Eva. I want to help you find a place where you can be safe and free, where you can start anew."
Eva's heart swelled with a mixture of gratitude and hope. The idea of escaping her past and finding a community that could offer her solace and acceptance seemed like an impossible dream. Yet, Helen's words resonated deep within her, igniting a flicker of courage she thought she had lost.
As they walked, Eva couldn't help but notice the subtle changes in their surroundings. The forest became denser, the trees towering higher above them. The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting a gentle glow on the path ahead. And then, they emerged into a small clearing, where a collection of rustic cabins stood nestled among the trees.
Eva's eyes widened with awe as she took in the sight. It was a haven, a sanctuary hidden away from the rest of the world. The air carried the unmistakable scent of belonging, and the distant sound of birds and the songs they where producing.
Helen gestured towards the cabins. "Welcome to the my hideout from all the evil of the forest, Eva. This is your new home, at least for now,"
Eva's heart skipped a beat as she absorbed the weight of Helen's words. She had found it—the place she had been searching for, where she could finally find peace and rebuild her shattered life. Excitement mixed with trepidation as she followed Helen towards the cabins.
As they approached the house, Eva began to feel a touch in her body like her wolf was acting up. She stood for a moment and looked at Helen again.
"What is it, young one?" Helen asked, being very nice. Eva growled a little, impulsly making her catch the scent of her aunt around.
"She is here," Eva said, fear crawling through her body. She just escaped from one and cant escape from another one.
"Who is here?" Helen asked, putting a defensive position.
Eva then stopped to think.'i have been watching you for sometime' those where the words of helen. She faced Helen quickly growling again.
"Calm down, girl. I can never hurt you." Helen said.
"That what you would say, susan" Eva said calling her real name.
The chuckle followed by a loud laughter from susan made Eva fright. She was so determined to tear down her life.
"You are becoming a better wolf, Eva. I can see that, but let us see how well you battle." Susan said, attacking her immediately. She was changed of her direction from a push on her opposite side.
Eva scanned the area to see what helped her. A young man with tough exterior walked out of the shadows coming closer to susan. Eva immediately walked closer to him seeking shelter.
"Well, well, well.. isnt it Dave the well known pathetic Alpha." Susan said.
"Says the one that just took a small hit," the young man said. Eva was fasinated by his strength. He didnt burlge in the hit he gave her but she flew a very far distance.
Susan ran forward in zig-zag manner extending her fist to punch him. He held her fist calmly breaking her hand easily.
"Argghh…" she screamed falling backwards. "You son of a b***h," she groaned, holding her hands in agony.
"She is injured," Eva said and he smiled, gracefully.
"That was the point of all this fight," he said. "Let get out of here. You need help." He added and Eva nodded following him. For no reason, Eva felt more safe with him than when she was with the so-called Helen. The feeling was more than him saving her. She felt peace beside him.
