Chapter 2: The Girl Who Kicked the Devil The morning sun streamed through the curtains, bathing the small house in warm golden light. In the kitchen, Mrs. Williams moved quietly from one chore to another. She swept the floor, arranged the living room, and prepared breakfast while occasionally glancing toward her daughter's room. A soft smile appeared on her face. "Still sleeping..." After everything that happened yesterday, Pricy looked peaceful for once. A few minutes later, the bedroom door opened. "Good morning, Mum." Mrs. Williams turned around with a smile. "Good morning, dear. How was your night?" "It was great. What about yours?" "Mine was fine too." Pricy stretched lazily. "Mum, set the table. I'm going to take my bath. Betty and I are hanging out today." "No problem." After taking her bath, Pricy returned dressed in a casual outfit and sat down at the dining table. The aroma of breakfast immediately made her stomach growl. After eating halfway, she suddenly looked up. "Thanks, Mum." Mrs. Williams blinked. "For what?" "For the food... and for yesterday." Her mother's expression softened. "It's alright, dear." Then her face became serious. "Just don't cause trouble outside." Pricy nearly choked. "What?!" She slammed her foot against the floor dramatically. "Do I always look like a troublemaker to you?" Mrs. Williams sighed. "That's not what I meant." "Then what did you mean?" "Never mind." "Mum, you're making me lose my appetite." "Oh no. Don't lose it." Pricy narrowed her eyes. "Why are you staring at me like that?" Mrs. Williams quickly looked away. "Oh... was I?" Pricy shook her head. "Gosh." "What?" "I should leave now." She grabbed her bag and hurried outside. --- On her way to Betty's house, someone suddenly stepped in front of her. "Hey, wait." Pricy frowned. "Who are you?" The girl folded her arms confidently. "You don't know me, but I know you." "Should I be impressed?" The girl ignored her sarcasm. "You were with my guy." Pricy raised an eyebrow. "Your guy?" "Mike." The name clicked immediately. "Oh..." A mischievous smile spread across her face. "You mean that annoying i***t from the chapel?" The girl's expression darkened. "Mind your words." Pricy laughed. "Sorry. I have somewhere to be." She attempted to walk past. The girl blocked her again. "I'm still talking." Pricy stared at her. Then she smiled. "Aren't you tired?" "What?" "If you have this much free time, maybe go clean the streets or something." The girl's face turned red. "How dare you!" Pricy shrugged. "Bye." She walked away without looking back. "Remember this!" the girl shouted. "We'll meet again!" Pricy chuckled. "Hopefully not." --- A few minutes later, she arrived at Betty's house. Knock. Knock. Knock. "Come in!" Pricy entered. Betty immediately rushed over and hugged her. "Bestie!" "Hey." "How are you?" "I'm fine." Betty grinned. "So where are we going today?" Pricy thought for a moment. "The West Wing." Betty's eyes lit up. "Perfect!" She grabbed her power bike. Moments later, the two girls were speeding through the city. The wind whipped through their hair as they rode. Suddenly, Pricy spoke. "Do you know Mimi?" Betty glanced back. "Of course. Why?" "She stopped me earlier." Betty immediately understood. "Oh..." "She claimed Mike is her boyfriend." Betty burst into laughter. "What?" "She's been crushing on him forever." "So they're not dating?" "Nope." Pricy looked away. "Good." Betty's eyes widened. "Wait..." "What?" "Why do you care?" "I don't." "You totally do." "I don't!" Betty laughed. "Whatever you say." --- The West Wing was unusually crowded that afternoon. Students, tourists, and visitors filled the streets. Pricy scanned the area casually. Then she froze. Her eyes narrowed. "There he is." Betty followed her gaze. And immediately spotted Mike. Standing among a group of friends. Laughing. Looking completely carefree. Betty blinked. "He's actually kind of cute." Pricy's jaw dropped. "What?!" "I'm just saying—" "He broke my phone!" "Still cute though." Pricy looked at her friend in absolute disbelief. Then without warning— She jumped off the bike. And sprinted straight toward him. "PRICY!" Too late. Mike looked up just in time to see a flying shadow. BAM! A powerful kick landed squarely against his face. The crowd gasped. Mike stumbled backward. "You again?!" Pricy stood proudly before him. "Miss me?" "You are insane!" She pulled out her broken phone. "I didn't get the chance to finish our conversation yesterday." Mike groaned. "Not this again." "You broke my screen." "And?" Before he could react— Punch! Her fist collided with his mouth. The crowd exploded into shocked whispers. Mike touched his lips. Blood. Actual blood. His eyes widened. "What is wrong with you?!" Pricy cracked her knuckles. "A lot of things." She threw another punch. This time Mike caught her wrist. "Enough!" His voice echoed across the area. The crowd instantly went silent. For the first time, his playful expression disappeared. And somehow... That made him look even more handsome. Pricy hated that thought immediately. "Let go." "No." She smirked. Then twisted his arm. Mike nearly screamed. "What the hell?!" "You'll repair my phone." "No!" She twisted harder. "AHHH!" Several people winced. "Three days." "No!" "Two?" "NO!" She twisted again. Mike's face turned pale. "Fine! Fine!" The crowd burst into laughter. Mike looked like he was about to cry. "I'll repair it!" Pricy finally released him. "Good." Mike rubbed his arm dramatically. "You fight like a monster." She smiled sweetly. "Thank you." "I wasn't complimenting you." "Still counts." Mike stared at her. Then unexpectedly smiled. A slow, dangerous smile. The kind that made girls fall in love instantly. "You're interesting." Pricy's heart skipped. Just for a second. Only for a second. Then she remembered the broken phone. "Don't flirt with me." The crowd laughed again. Mike chuckled. "How about lunch?" Pricy's eyes widened. "What?" Mike immediately raised both hands. "Never mind. Please don't hit me again." The crowd roared with laughter. Pricy rolled her eyes. "Smart choice." Mike watched her walk away. For the first time in years... Someone had made him genuinely curious. And that someone was the crazy girl who almost broke both his arms. --- Back at the bike, Betty was staring with admiration. "That was amazing." Pricy smiled proudly. "I know." "But..." "What?" "You really shouldn't have punched his cute face." Pricy froze. "What did you say?" "Nothing." "I heard that." Betty immediately started backing away. "Bestie, calm down." Pricy pointed toward Mike. "If you love his face so much, go help him clean the blood." Betty gasped dramatically. "You're evil." "And proud." The two girls burst into laughter. Soon, they climbed back onto the bike and headed home. Neither of them knew that today's fight would change everything. Because for the first time... Mike couldn't stop thinking about Pricy. And Pricy had unknowingly become the most interesting girl in his world. To be continued...
