SELENE’S POV I didn’t mean to follow him, I mean he hadn't done anything suspicious enough to make me follow him. But I had to know, I had to know who he was meeting so late and why he was sneaking out. After what had just happened to me I couldn’t afford to blindly trust anyone anymore. Somehow, I realized that I had to start thinking for myself and defending myself. No one was going to save me until I took the initiative to save myself. At first, I told myself I was only stepping outside for air, I didn’t want to admit to myself that I was starting to doubt some of the things he was telling me. Admitting to that doubt would shatter everything that I had tried so hard to build with him. The den felt too small, too warm, his scent pressing into me until my thoughts wouldn’t settle. Lucas
