DANTE’S POV
Rex didn’t waste time softening the blow, I had sent him after Selene to make sure that her meeting with Lucas didn’t get out of control and I could see by the way he came back to the office tat he didn’t have any good news for me. I knew that he was about to tell me something that I had a;ready knew by instinct but was struggling to accept.
“They were alone together,” he said quietly, closing the door behind him. “In the south garden. Long enough that it wasn’t accidental.”
The words landed like a blade between my ribs. How did she even know where to meet him? Was this something they had discussed before he came in here or it was something that he told her during one of their meetings in her dreams?
