DANTE’S POV
Rex’s knock came sharp and deliberate against my office door, a sound that usually meant trouble. I didn’t look up from the reports on my desk I couldn’t. I already sensed what was coming, and my wolf bristled before the words even left Rex’s mouth.
“Alpha,” he said, voice even but edged with something wary, “Steven has arrived. He’s requesting an audience with you.”
Somehow, I knew this day would come. Steve ws all too eager toplease and I cant say I blamed him for that. He wanted to gain favor with me and at some point he had even tried to strike a friendship with me but I could never allow that to happen because I wasn’t recruiting any new friends.
