Chapter 19: The Union of Fire
The city was now a scarce representation of its former glory. The streets had been blackened by the ravenous fires. The buildings still burned, crumbling to the ground as the infernos raged. Bodies littered the streets as wayward survivors wandered through the hellish chaos in search of lost loved ones. While the battle on the airship had only just begun, the battles on the ground had reached their boiling points. Bartas and Jerudya fought through the torn streets of Mar below, trading blows like life-long rivals. Bartas had impressed Jerudya and he found himself smiling amidst the flames of battle. “You are a freak of nature, Bartas. No human has ever withstood my attacks like this. You are worthy of the Droragorian race. Who taught you to fight like this?”
