Chapter 2: Desperate Attempts

259 Words
Alex's desperate attempts to win Aurora back. Fell flat. His apologies rang hollow. Aurora saw through his facade. "Elijah's not good for you," Alex warned. But Aurora stood firm. "You lost the right to decide for me." Alex's anger flared. But Aurora held her ground. With Elijah by her side. She felt brave enough. To face the future. Elijah's presence. Comforted Aurora. She began to trust him. But doubts lingered. Was she ready to love again. Alex's frustration boiled over. He couldn't accept Aurora's rejection. Sabotage became his game. Spreading rumors about Elijah. Trying to drive them apart. Aurora's phone buzzed with concerned texts. "Is Elijah trouble?" friends asked. But Aurora knew better. "Elijah's the only one who's been honest," she said. Alex's tactics backfired. Aurora's trust in Elijah grew. But Elijah noticed Alex's escalating sabotage. "I won't let him hurt you," Elijah promised. Aurora's heart swelled. With Elijah, she felt protected. But Alex wouldn't stop. Aurora settled into her new life. Living with her mom and dad. A welcome change from Alex's toxic grasp. But Alex refused to let go. He showed up at their doorstep. "Please, Aurora, forgive me," Alex begged. Aurora's mom intervened. "Alex, leave her alone," she warned. Aurora's dad stood firm. "You're not welcome here." Alex's face twisted in anger. "This isn't over," he snarled. Aurora shuddered. But Elijah's unexpected visit. Chased away her fears. "Elijah, what brings you here?" Aurora asked. "I wanted to check on you," Elijah replied. Aurora's heart skipped a beat. His kindness was a balm. To her wounded soul.
