KYLA It's Friday. Worse than any other day. Elizabeth had gone too cold, and it was beginning to irk Kyla. Yesterday, she had to spend an extra hour behind the desk. No lunch, just endless paperwork and the constant sound of Elizabeth’s heels clicking against the floor. Kyla sighed, dusting her lab coat and tugging her hair into a messy bun. The scent of antiseptic filled the air. Dogs barked from their cages, cats meowed from the kennels, mingling with the soft hum of the AC. She forced a smile at the receptionist walking past.
